ANOTHER SEMINAR TONIGHT

Postby DaveKell » Tue Nov 13, 2018 11:39 am

I'm already getting excited for another opportunity to speak this evening at what have turned out to be very well attended seminars with an excellent Uro in Dallas at a prestigious hospital. My presentation has been given enough times now that I'm extremely confident in what I'm going to say and no longer have to reread a script I worked on for the first few I did. I'm looking forward to looking into the faces of men who need the answers I was once looking for and finally found. I love watching the affirmative nods as many of the men openly are able to relate to what I say. So far the reviews I've heard from the couple of uros whose seminars I've spoken at has been very positive and much appreciated. I'm fortunate my wife finally enjoys being front and center with me to add her side of it. The wives in attendance I know are very encouraged by my wife being there. As I've said many times, I'm entirely determined to see the day penile implants are as main stream accepted as knees, hips and boob implants are. After all, the days of the first Viagra television commercials providing endless fodder for joke material for late night comedians are long over with. Viagra even has a car in Nascar races. I don't know if implant manufacturers will ever attain that level of exposure since I suspect they aren't close to the billions the drug treatment companies earn. I feel it's incumbent on all of us who've been implanted to openly impart our stories to bring about the day when nobody will be concerned anymore about the need to hide the fact they have an implant.

On that note, I did come up with a line for the guys who are deathly afraid of the bulb being discovered during sex with a woman they've never been with before. I have no earthly idea why this occurred to me! Go ahead and let them fondle you. If they detect the bulb and ask what's up with this thing just say you were strangely born with a third testicle. Since that testicle never functioned it eventually calcified and hardened but there's no need to surgically remove it. You're welcome.

Last nights seminar went very well. The uro hosting it was battling an illness and actually turned it over to me much sooner than in the past. I got to elaborate on several points I previously only had time to mention in passing. A wife of an attendee actually asked my wife about the issue of losing length with an implant! She wanted to know my wife's assessment of me post implant. My wife said "he didn't get any bigger but he also hasn't lost anything. He's actually pretty good as far as I'm concerned". Wow, I wasn't expecting two women to openly discuss that!

My implant manufacturer rep came up to me at the end and said "guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow night Dave". I asked why and he looked at me confused. Then he informed me there was another seminar I was slated to speak at about an hour closer to my home. He eventually realized that we had a missed communication about it, but I told him to send me the info and I'd be there. Haven't told him yet my wife won't be able to attend due to a scheduling conflict. Now I have to improvise a new opening because I always begin by mentioning in my opening remarks that my wife is seven years younger than me, at which point she interrupts me and clarifies that I am SIX years, Six months, and SIX days older than her. The 666 reference always gets a lot of laughs to get things going. I'll think of something I'm sure. Like to start off with a light hearted moment.

That is funny... you could still use it, just correct yourself and say my wife always reminds me that.... Good luck :)

Dave...even though I'm already implanted almost 7 days now, I'd like to know if you know other areas of the country that has seminars like yours? I'm focusing specifically at Richmond, Norfolk, or Williamsburg, Virginia. I'm not planning to drive to D.C. or Baltimore.

Thanks
Edd

Edd you'd need to have your urologist ask the manufacturer"s rep to see.

I forgot to post a follow up about the other seminar the next day after the one this thread was about. It was poorly attended compared to others in the past, I think 8 guys were there, none of them with their wives. I'd guess all the men were in their 70's - 80's. The doctor kind of rushed through his part of describing all the available treatments before turning it over to me. I modified my usual presentation in the interest of time. At the end, the only couple of questions pertained to recovery time and whether you can always feel the implant in your body. I was very surprised to hear the doctor tell them you can return to work after the first week but no heavy lifting. I had the full attention of the room telling about the remarkable change in my life with an implant. At the end, one guy came up and shook my hand and commented "thank you for being so transparent with your experience. It helped me a great deal". This is an experience I'd almost gladly do entirely for free.

On another note, my rep asked me about a phone call I took from a guy a few weeks ago who was referred to me by a urologist. In the course of our conversation I told him to be sure and ask his doc how many implants he has done. Apparently the doc got furious at this and contacted the company that sends me to these seminars to complain long and loud about me telling his patient this. I explained that I NEVER give medical advice, only relay anecdotal comments I've read from other men. My rep wasn't concerned but told me he had a phone call from higher ups in the company about it. Apparently they are going to give me some parameters for any future phone calls. I tend to feel this was a doc who can't tolerate being challenged in any shape or form as many I've encountered who've exhibited that attitude. I'll follow any instructions I'm given of course, but I feel if a doc says "well I have four implants under the belt" I think it's prudent to gently suggest finding a more experienced surgeon!. My rep said an implant is a simple procedure but we've all heard stories on here about bad outcomes with low volume doctors. Like I said though, I'll follow whatever instructions I'm given. I'm done with seminars until probably next Spring sometime now but it has been an incredibly satisfying experience to date. I'm happy knowing my entire openness to discuss my implant may have played a small part in improving the lives of some men in attendance at seminars where I spoke.
