Advice for pre oppers and recently implanted.
Advice for pre oppers and recently implanted.
Ever since my implant I had a tremendous amount of pain in my right nut (pump is on the right side) I went to the surgeon the other day and he couldn’t even touch my nutsack it hurt so bad. I was seriously regretting getting this done and wanted it out. He said the pain wasn’t normal and asked if I was taking an anti inflammatory and I have been (ibuprofen) he put me on a prescription anti inflammatory and by the next day I was almost pain free! It’s called Meloxicam.i can’t believe what an effect it had had, he said that it also has some pain relievers in it maybe? I went from not being able to wear jeans to trying to pump in one day. I hope this post spares some other dudes from the hell ive been expiriencing over the last few weeks. He also said to move the pump around as much as possible to help with whatever. Anyways happy pumping.

Thanks, Opie!! With my surgery scheduled for 10 days and a wake up (11/8), I've been wondering what pain killers would be the best to use other than the ones I may walk out of the surgi-center with or pick up at the pharmacy on the way home. Very glad you posted this and I'll keep it in mind. I return to the surgeon one week later (11/15) for post-op check-up so this might be the opportune time to have Meloxicam on the tip of my tongue.

Implanted Friday 26 oct 7:30 am By Dr. Eid. I took a few hydracodone narcotics the first day after the spinal wore off . Day 1 was uncomfortable but not unbearable. Now I take Motrin and that’s fine. Don’t Know much about Meloxicam but if you take it really easy and I mean really easy you won’t have any problems. I was very apprehensive about the surgery the lead up was worse than the event.
I have no idea what your doctors protocol is Dr. Eid told me I could take Out my catheter today what a relief I felt like I was Peeing through a Narrow bent straw not Sure but it may have just been that particular unit. I see him tomorrow to check things out and he will show me how to start cycling in a hot bathtub starting tomorrow. I’m cautiously looking forward to that but it could be a bit more than I Can take after 5 hour car ride home. So far I’ll say that the pain was nothing like
I thought it would be like don’t get me wrong it hurt but it subsided a lot in 24 hours and more the next twenty four.
If I can help or answer any questions pm me
All the best

I’m glad meloxicam worked for you. I strained my groin recently and the doc prescribed meloxicam and it hasn’t helped much.

Thanks, Floppy. I don't know what my surgeon's follow-up protocol will be either. I know that the day following surgery, I return to the surgi-center and a nurse will remove the catheter; no other information given so far but I plan (if not before I walk out of the center on the 8th then the next day) to ask for all the surgical notes. Then I have a follow-up with my surgeon the next week (11/15)...for what, I'm not sure but he's already told me that I won't be cycling for quite a while after implant. I'm hoping that all will be revealed during that appointment (baths/ showers/ problems/ etc.). Who knows, I may be surprised at that appointment but I'm trying to manage my own expectations. We'll see...
