Boston LGX has no relief valve

Postby oldbeek » Fri Sep 14, 2018 7:19 pm

Boston rep got back to me today. No relief valve! Pump up hard and pump bulb gets hard. Wait 60 seconds for things to expand and it may take 2 more pumps. Do this over and over till pump bulb is hard. If you are getting more and more easy pumps, you are stretching or you have a problem.

I wondered about the LGX. I was told that the AMS 700 series CX does have a relief valve. It's why my 'stretching routine' works with the CX. I don't continue pumping anymore because I don't need to. About 30-40 pumps and I'm ready.

I think this new rep is WRONG!! Before Rich retired he told me that it did and that's why you can pump over 100 pumps. I have pumped as few as 10 and as many as 40 :)

My MS pump gets rock hard and no way to pump any more. If I wait several minutes for things to even and stretch a bit I can force tiny additional pumps in and feel burning from stretching. I do vary the number of pumps but I think that has to do with how much I was deflated and how full or partially full the pumps are.

I always understood the AMS device to have a max. pressure release valve. I even remember a figure of 240 or 250 psi quoted.

I spoke to the AMS rep yesterday for over an hour. She is going to check it out with the engineers and get back to me. I will get the answer to this question if it kills me. :)

Larry,

Did you ever get any info on this from AMS?

ATTENTION EVERYONE
A while back (maybe a month or so) I posted a message from my Boston Scientific Rep a very scientific explanation about the AMS that basically said that it DID NOT have an overfill valve. Can anyone please link me to it... thanks :)
