Should I be able to pull the pump away from my nut at this point? It feels like they are attached and maybe stuck together? It’s literally the only pain I have now but I can’t get my fingers between them. The pump is also kind of poking on the bottom of my nutsack.

Opie, ARE YOU IN TOUCH WITH YOUR DOCTOR?

I do not want to alarm you. All men heal differently but I want to know what your doctor says when you tell him that you are in a lot of pain after more than two weeks and your pump and testicle seem to be stuck together. These could be signs that the doctor needs to know about.

I have been but he’s not exactly available. Yes I’m pissed. I called and always get put in touch with a regular urologist and when I called on Friday they told me to go to the ER in Iowa City. I waited for ten hours to be seen becUse the place was full of people seeking free treatment. I saw a PA that is an ER doctor, I went off and said I don’t need an ER doctor I need a urologist!!!! By then I hadn’t eaten all day and was beyond hurting 2 hours away from home. I got a csll today they moved my appointment up one day! In Iowa I’m pretty sure the surgeon in the only one in the state that even does this procedure but they told me that a female was to start soon. Oh and my appointment isn’t even with the surgeon it’s with another PA. With my job and currently having a broken back and severe concussion traveling out of state wasn’t an option. And I’m a single dad with my ten year old daughter. So far this has been a nightmare but this group has been a blessing.

Sorry to hear this story. This is why you use a specialist in penile implants that has a second who is also a specialist. I was looking for a back up doctor in LA in case I had problems going to Dr Eid. I found USC Keck, in LA that has several URO,s specializing in implants. Decided just to stay in LA. Again, So sorry ! Can imagine what you are going through.

Thanks, my biggest fear is infection or having to do it over, I’m a diabetic so I really want a one and done scenario.

Opie, I am appalled that the surgeon that did your surgery will not see you or answer questions. I wish I had a good solution at this point. You state you are worried about infection. Let's hope that is NOT the case but you are right to be concerned. You must pester people until they respond if for no other reason than to shut you up. If by chance you have an infection the last thing you want is for it to go from a local infection (bad enough) to going to a blood-borne body-wide infection and going into septic shock. While that is NOT a problem now, you deserve to have someone on this case that understands implants to soundly evaluate your situation. Do not stop raising hell !!!

Please keep us posted.

PS: Does your pump feel normal (like it did when you first started to familiarize yourself with it? Changes in the feel of the pump can give clues.

Your greatest infection risk as a diabetic is if you fail to control your diabetes. If you keep it in control, your infection risk is low. If you fail to keep it under control, your greatest risk for infection is in your non core body appendages. Just watch what you eat, keep your insulin level in check along with normal hygiene and you likely will be fine.

One benifit to having the surgery is that it has made me more aware and I have been taking much better care of my diabetes I have been septic before however and that’s why this concerns me . I understand the doctors or doctors but I don’t care who you are when it comes to arrogance and I can’t imagine cutting somebody open and going home and going to sleep at night knowing that they possibly have issues after something you have done . On the positive side it does hurt like hell and it still does but I can’t help but be excited if this all works out in the end I’m really pumped up .
