Trimix vs Straight Alprostadil

Postby alfa88 » Sat Sep 15, 2018 5:06 pm

Hopefully on my upcoming visit to my GP I'll get a script for trimix(30-2-20). I have tried 5 shots of Edex 20 and get a tolerable pain with poor results. Question: Say I start with 1unit(10mg),(if my math is correct); is the dose of Alprostadil(PDE1) going to be 20mcg and thus expect the same tolerable pain? I wouldn't mind that feeling of a raging hardon if I actually got a raging hardon. :D

I'll try, but I can't guarantee accuracy as I'm not an expert on that kind of stuff. I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Anything I post is based on my own personal experiences at best and my delusions or hallucinations at worst. Always consult your doctor and follow his/her advice.

With the Edex 20 you got 20mcg of alprostadil by taking the whole dose of 1 ml.
So, assuming in your desired 30-2-20 tri-mix, the 20 indicates alprostadil, you'd have to take the whole ml to get 20 mcg of alprostadil. Hopefully you won't be taking the whole ml. The 3 ingredients are supposed to work synergistically making the mix stronger as a whole than than they would separately.

Units are a measurement of volume so your correlation of 1 unit to 10mcg doesn't compute with me.

Taking the alprostadil ingredient of your proposed tri-mix alone at 20mcg per ml and assuming your unit refers to the diabetic U-100 unit most here are familiar with, there are 100 units per ml, so then 1 unit would be 0.2mcg of alprostadil.

However your dose isn't likely to be 1 unit. I'm guessing you'd start with at least 10 units, giving you 2mcg of alprostadil. Making the alprostadil a tenth of your current Edex dose.

And again, I'm not an expert and can't guarantee accuracy.

Thanks Bldoink. Apart from my bad math that's sorta what I wanted to know in that the Pde1 'burn' should pretty much be a non issue with Trimix. Now if I can get me an ~ hour set it 'n forget it hardon I'll be happy as a clam. :D

Bldoink is correct in his math; yours was incorrect. One "unit" on an insulin syringe is 1/100th of a ml (mililiter); 10 units is 0.1ml of whatever mix you are injecting. It seems the injection crowd here rarely uses units.

In your case 1ml of Edex 20 = 20 mcg of PGE1 and at 0.2ml, the 30-2-20 would yield 0.2 x 20 = 4 mcg, abut 1/5th of your current Edex which you may need to adjust.

I was using 40 mcg of Caveject40 (same as Edex, PGE1) in a 1 ml syringe (that's lots of liquid to inject). There was a good hard on and a lot of burn which frequently inhibited ejaculation. I am now typically using 0.2-0.3 ml of 30-2-40 Tri-Mix now which is 8-12 mcg of PGE or about 1/4th the PGE1 of the Caverject with an approximate equal reaction and less burn. Your Uro might start you with 0.1 or 0.2ml and work up to an effective doe]se in 0.1ml increments.

Up till now I've only injected Edex. It seems like Edex is the AOL of penile injections in that everything is pre-measured and fool proof so I want to make sure I've got nomenclature correct when I go to Trimix. Sorry if this seems obvious but I'm a Nervous Ned and don't want to end up with a visit to the ER.

Here's a link to a pet site called Pet Place. I have no connection with them but thought it might help: https://www.petplace.com/article/dogs/pet-health/how-to-convert-u-100-insulin-in-units-to-milliliters/

I'm really leery about giving specific information that someone might use for dosing. You should really consult a medical professional or at least consult a pharmacist. My understanding is that your understanding, as posted above, is wrong by a decimal point. In other words, If I understand your post, the answer would be .01 not .1 as you indicated. Ask a medical professional. I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

1 "unit" = 0.01ml = 0.01cc (1 100th of a 100 unit/1.0ml syringe)
10 "units" = 0.1ml = 0.1cc (1/10th of a 100 unit/1.0ml syringe)
100 "units" = 1.0ml = 1.0cc
etc.

This crowd tends not to use cc's because ml is usually printed on the syringe.

A 0.3ml syringe is also popular for low dose users.

Like the man above said, your Uro should go over all this: mix strength, initial dose, progression of dose to effective dose, and injection technique with you. Other threads discuss the first office visit, etc.

I believe this applies to my pic. I'll try to stick with cc from now on.

You should really consult a medical professional

I'll be seeing my GP to run this past her. My Uro visit is a couple months away. I have no desire to do things hap-hazard with one of my favorite body parts. I just don't want to appear completely clueless. :D

It makes no difference whether you use cc or ml. I usually use ml but whatever floats yer boat.

Code: Select all

Hopefully on my upcoming visit to my GP I'll get a script for trimix

My hopes were dashed. She apparently felt too uninformed to prescribe penis poking medicine. My Uro has failed to reply to 2 calls so I'll wait for my scheduled appointment. :( Hopefully I can jettison this guy when my medical plan changes next year.

A holdout from my old 26HP VW days. The engine was a 1200cc, these days it'd be called 1.2L. When will the US ever go to metric? :x
