Looking for a great high-volume surgeon in the KY area for a friend. Anyone know of any "GREAT" surgeons in that area?

I believe that most areas have good urologists that do Implants. My current urologist has been with me for several years with many surgeries to open my bladder neck. He had me on Trimix for several years. When I complained about the poor response I was having he suggested an implant. I live 2 miles from the hospital. All was covered by my healthcare insurance under medicare and Kaiser.

Thanks Octigo! Everyone has to take their own risks since every surgery with every surgeon is a risk. I could just never risk a surgeon for an implant that was not an implant specialist. If they do not do at least 100 a year with good ratings from their patients I would have to keep looking. I do not want a general urologist that works on men's and women's urinary issues.

Just an update. I went to another local urologist surgeon who was on the coloplast list. I am sure there are some real good ones around, but have not found one who makes me feel real warm and tingly. The only real positive thing I have found out is that they all told me basically the same thing. My fall could have caused the ED and peyronies. I mean really. Up until that day working on the deck I was fine. No issues. I could masterbate twice a day and still have sex with my wife with no problem. I basically was black from my knees to my stomache, inside my legs, ass cheeks, you name it, it was black and blue. I spent about 6 weeks trying to figure out how to walk straight. Could not talk my GP or urologist into an MRI, CT, xray etc. Still have no idea what was damaged, but had to start taking testosterone after mine dropped to 20 a couple months after my fall, and had no energy to get off couch. Just thought it was LUPUS issues. Still on it and will be for rest of my life.

Enough of the rant though. ED showed up pretty soon after. Sildenafil was prescribed. worked good at first. Not so good the past 6 to 8 months. Peyronies showed up as about a 1 inch by 1/2 inch lesion on the top side of my dick late last year. Started losing length. No real solid erections for almost 2 years.

Since I can still get somewhat of a medically assisted erection, all the opinions I have gotten have been consistent. I can have excision surgery with a graft, which along with trimix will get me by another couple years, If I am lucky. Or I can get an implant. Heres where it gets interesting.

ASK YOUR DOCTORS QUESTIONS, A LOT OF THEM.

My first one would not tell me how many implants he does a month let alone a week. Surgery, yes he appears to be great at. So if I did go for excision and grafting, might be an option. Just kept dancing around the issue. Said it is not rocket science. They measure once they get in there and you get whatever size comes up. Any surgeon should get you the same. Also no real advice, just when did I want to do either surgery. I told him I would give them a call.

Next one pretty much the same. Third one was a little better. Does several month, about 1 a week. Not the best, but not the worst I would guess. (FYI, they all suggested a coloplast titan due to my peyronies issues.) They were not sure the AMS would fix the curve. Also provided instruction that I could use traction, (already using an andropeyronies) and VED to help with elasticity. In each case I was told I would continue to lose length without regular HARD erections, and the plaque would not get better, unless I am one of those in which it miraculously disappears. Not happened yet.

My wife would be happy for me to do this local because of her health issues, but has no issue with me going anywhere I feel the most comfortable to have it done. Oh one of the surgeons told me that one of the complication of the excision grafting is loss of blood flow to the head of my dick and it might have to be amputated if that happened. WTF. I figure the less surgeries the better and if an implant will get me an erection to use when either me or my wife would like. It is not the last resort for me, it is probably my best option. Now if I had no ED issues, the surgery might be more of an option, just so I do not get any comments about that. There are lots of successful stories about that on here for sure.

I live in Beech Mountain, NC and drove to Dr. Kramer as I wanted one of the very best. Took almost a year of research and watching videos. One of his patients was another doctor and he said to "watch his hands" as that told him Dr. Kramer was the one he went with. Take the time, drive the distance and you will be pleased you did. My first inflate is attached.

Not Kentucky, but it sounds like your case is more complex than your everyday IPP

I have seen this post. Have to be honest it terrified me. My wife wanted me to get one more somewhatlocal opinion, and it is still almost 3 hours away. I do pretty much what it takes to keep her happy, but for me it is the last one i will visit period. If an implant will fix my curve, plaque, and dents, i plan on getting something done as soon as i can. She is actually more concerned about implant than i am. She is supportive in either case. Her only concern has been traveling if she does not recover well from her surgery. I figure i just will have to wait. If so i will traction and ved till i can get it scheduled and she is comfortable traveling. Worst case i can travel and deal with it myself.

To be honest in my mind i plan on the implant, but want to satisfy her concerns. For me it is timing. I am not dealing with peyronies, ed etc, for years, and then get an implant and shrink even more by the time it is done.

I will say on comments here have been helpful, along with consistant doc opinions. More frustrated in this day and age i only have two options, and in reality only one just when it really comes down to it.

FYI, I eat healthy, take supplements, pentox, pretty much anything i have read about that might help i do. Exercise regularly, stay active, stretch, martial arts for years, can still do more pushups than my kids, well over 100, bench press double digits, so those on here who advocate diet, exercise, etc, done that for years and still do. Not helped fing peyronies or the ed. Sometimes i guess options are limited but i got some. Beats hell out of a neurosurgeon cutting into my wifes skull and excising tissue there, and that is her only option. Perspective i guess.

SW-

I too have Peyronies and had an implant done by Dr. Levine in Chicago. I was super pleased with the process. I began going to him on January 2nd of this year. We did what we could as far as treatment and decided on an implant. Let me know if you want to know more about him. It’s been a very pleasant experience and Chicago is not too far from you. Dr Levine is a Peyronies’s expert btw. Google him.

I had mine done in Lexington Ky. by Dr. Slabaugh. I'm very pleased with the results. He told me he does about 3 to 4 a month. Not the highest volume but still a lot. My family Dr said that she had also heard good things about him. I had used him for some other issues and felt comfortable with him. He uses AMS. I'm just over 2 years and implanted and have very few complaints about it. Nothing that I wouldn't do it over again.
Just my experience with him.

Thank you for the information. One good review for a local doctor is nice to get. Again I appreciate it. I have one more opinion in two weeks at a doctor in OH. I am going to see how that goes. If he tells me the same thing, I am done with opinions and just plan on getting this taken care of somewhere, hopefully by end of year or no later than the spring.

I mow about 6 acres of yard around the farm with a zero turn, and about 12 with a tractor, and have to be able to ride a mower before the grass starts growing next year in 2019.
