Before surgery Brazilian wax

Postby 53@MVA » Mon Sep 03, 2018 5:37 pm

I opted to get a partial Brazilian which included the penis scrotum and taint area. I had it done 2 days b4 my surgery and I am just now starting to get the prickles. If I had shaved I would have had 2 days max after surgery b4 regrowth. Huge on the comfort level ! Also made the beta dine prep washes a little more thorough. First time I have ever had a wax of any kind but I know now if any more surgery is required I would do it again Ina heart beat.

Dr. Eid gives patients a very specific directive to NOT shave or wax before surgery since it causes an increase in bacterial colonies in the pubic area. He hands that to every pre-op patient in writing.

i guess it might not matter in that case whether it was a normal part of your routine or if it was a one time thing.
i suspect a one-time thing would indeed traumatize the skin more and possibly cause irritation or leave you prone to infection. however, as someone who's been doing it for years, i wonder if it would make a difference?
Married 25+ years. Have had lots of urological procedures. Trimix made me ache, and bimix seems awesome. Castrated but on Test Cyp 260mg/week. Usually naked but kilted if not. Ask me anything.

I have no idea. I wondered several times about the "how" behind it causes greater bacterial colonization. I wondered if the hair somehow prevents the scrotal skin from laying flat against other skin where sweat and moisture develop. In other words, does the hair permit more air flow when the penis and scrotum touch each other or legs etc.

That is just pure speculation on my part. All I know for sure is his written directive.

Well I used isopropyl alcohol to treat the entire area b4 and after the waxing. I do groom for the wife ! So my hair growth wasn't huge. Kinda have a routine that I use to shave with facially as well with hot exfoliation no soap! Then to soften the hairs I use pure coconut oil then I shave with a 5 blade Schick then rinse with hot water then cotton pad alcohol wipes. Almost never have a ingrown hair. My beard is thick! And it grows from fully shaved to full growth in 3 weeks or less. Downstairs is a vit slower.
