Does a 3 Piece implant interfere with Imaging

It has been over 14 years since my prostate cancer surgery and follow-up radiation but I still have some non=symptomatic PC cooking according to my PSA. I think a highly sensitive PET Scan using Choline is in my future and I wonder if anyone knows if an implant will compromise this type of scan? I realize this is a very specialized question but thought that maybe someone here has been down that road.

I had Prostate Cancer in 2014. Recently I have had a steady increase in my PSA number so my Urologist had me go for an Axumin PET scan. My implant did not interfere with the procedure at all. My doctor read me the results. I did not see the imaging so I have no idea if it shows on the scan. I saw a bone scan image online of a man with a penile implant and his penis was clearly visible, but I could not tell he had an implant.

One of my first questions was about "any and all" imaging due to surveillance of multiple types of cancer I have survived.
I was given my card to present and doctor told me no problem.

Thanks guys. I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Eid August 7th. I really did not want to postpone this surgery until I could lay the groundwork for getting a sensitive choline C-11 PET scan. I got a phone message from a nuclear medicine physician from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center today that pretty much confirmed what the two of you have posted. I am so ready for this implant I could scream. I realize I have wasted a decade over senseless fears of size loss and concerns my glans would be less prominent than it is with a VED.

I will let you know, should be well before your planned implant. I received a diagnosis of metastatic melanoma Monday. Next P.E.T. scan tenatively set for Tuesday. The ones I had in the past for other cancers, they asked me to pump it up as it made it easier for them to read because it gets it out of the way a little better. I've had multiple MRI's and they have to limit to 3 gauz I think it is called. Also had multiple CT's with contrast. The connections and pump parts light up the scans like a flashbulb so if there is anything in the area, it is hard to see. I've never received CD's of my MRI's or P.E.T.S. though I have seen a few of the images.On some all the "stuff" is well defined. Will let you know. If I find out an idiot is going to read my P.E.T.S. I may reschedule for St. Louis. The reports on the CT'S last week described my healthy prostate and seminal vesicles, something that has not been in this body for 9 years. Cheers.

I have had twice a three piece implant. First lasted 15 years, second a revision and I had that done in Dec 5, 2017.

I have had CT scans, ultra sounds, x rays and I believe Mri's with no problems. Had prostrate cancer like seventeen years ago, that is what made me go to an implant. Best decision I ever made. Love both, but the revision was exceptionally a good job by the urologists. He gave me my original full length back and more girth. Which I believe everybody wants when you go into such surgery.
You should be good for imaging.

The first time I had a CT scan after my implant was put in, I told the tech that she was going to see the implant in there. She said, "Oh we see those all the time!"

The first time I had an MRI after becoming an implantee, I filled out the preliminary questionnaire, and it asked if you have any of the following, and one was penile implant. I checked "yes," and they took me to a private area where I showed them the implant card I carry in my wallet -- which they made a copy of -- and then they told me that they knew there was no metal in the implant but they just had to ask.

I tried to capture the images and attach them but cannot seem to get it to work. My CT's show the connection of tubing to the reservoir and the center of the pump to look like a flash of light. White with lines sparking out of it. The tip extenders show very precise and clear in white. I showed my Coloplast card to the radiologist at Barnes and he said he could not do the MRI because he was not able to contact anyone at Coloplast. PET next week so trying a different route. The page that shows the entire implant and reservoir is interesting but about the size of a stamp. I cannot enlarge because of a box that says I do not have the proper authority to open the window. That would be interesting too. o.k.Went back and worked at it some more. The yellow arrow points to the flash of the pump valve. There were some wilder images but this is what I could capture. The 2 white round things on each side are end view slices of my femurs.

Took 3 programs to get me here but here is a CT image of my tip extenders and the ends of the cylinders. Very clear image. Cheers.
