How to stop TriMix and move on.

Postby LookingUp » Wed Nov 22, 2017 1:39 pm

I've been using TMix for 2 years, during which time I've gone from a low dosage of 4 units to 20 while increasing the drug mixes twice. I went from 3 hours aching throbbing erections to just enough time to get the job done (20 - 30 mins) before losing wood. There is no way I'm going to stop being a sexual creature. So....

My concerns revolve around the obvious concerns of Implanting. It's a final step, no turning back, equipment failure, long term pain, if it ain't completely broke-don't fix it. For those who have traveled the T-Path, what where some of the reasons for taking that last step? If Tmix was working even a little, how to justify moving on? I've had a few surgeries and never had a great outcome. Seems there's always something not right. 2 back surgeries that didn't relieve pain, urethroplasty that left me incontinent. Something I tried to avoid with Proton radiation for my PCa. (Yup, seems I'm in the 1% radiation side effect cohort.) I know nothing is perfect. Especially the Medical "Art" passed along as Science. But, what pushed you to take that last step and Implant? I keep turning Rubix's Cube over and over. Can't seem to "Jump The Shark".

I have consults scheduled with Dr Morey in Dallas and Dr Perito in Miami this December. Anyone use these Drs or have insight on them?

Thanks.

LookingUp,

Sorry to hear about all your outcomes.

After my RALP I started on TriMix, and I was in the 10% cohort who experienced tremendous pain for hours, and a dick that got a lot bigger :) , but not hard enough to use very effectively :( . Switched to 2 different BiMix formulations which were tolerable, but left me with a dick that didn't work well enough to use at all. So for me it was a pretty easy decision - scary, but really my only option. The idea of spending the rest of my life without being able to make love to my wife was just unacceptable, as long as there was a treatment that had such a high success rate. And I figured, if the procedure was a failure I'd really be no worse off than if I did nothing.

Even though I'm scheduled for a revision, I am so happy I made the decision I did, and happy I didn't wait around any longer than I had to to make the insurance company happy. ED was sucking the life out of me mentally and emotionally. Here's my story: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8477

I know it's scary, and I know everyone has to do what they're comfortable with. There are so many guys here on FT that are more than willing to answer your questions and share their experiences either through posts, private messages or the chat room. Their support made all the difference for me -- I never felt like I was all alone in this condition or in making this decision, and certainly not alone in facing and dealing with the recovery phase. PM me any time if you'd like.

Wishing you the best in your journey no matter what path you choose. And Happy Thanksgiving, too!

(We have a tradition of going around the Thanksgiving table and each person sharing what they are thankful for in the past year. I would love to say I am thankful for my new dick, but I'm pretty sure my wife would freak. But it would be fun  )

I had a double transplant in 1992, 94 I started having ED symptoms and a urologist suggested Trimix so started out on a very low mixture that gradually increased over a 20 year period until last year no matter how high a dose or strength nothing worked and I was throwing money away so I did nothing until coming back to FT and started reading about implants, started looking for a good surgeon and found Dr Hakky in Snellville Ga so flew up to meet him and scheduled surgery, to me I had no other options as Trimix quit working altogether and now I’m 2 weeks post op and feeling like I made the best decision, healing well as my biggest fear was healing with my medical history but so far I’m extremely happy with results
Pump, pills and Trimix no longer work

6 months of injecting myself was enough, especially once I came to understand that there is potential for internal scarring that may limit the size of implant than can be installed.
I found Caverject to be damned good but impossible to attenuate. I would get an erection that was sometimes too hard and sometimes not hard enough..... plus spontaneity was compromised by the fiddling with apparatus.
That's how it was for me, pretty good but a temporary fix.
Now at over 10 months with my Titan, life is fantastic from a sex perspective.
I can wake up in the morning, have a squiz at some porno and have a wank.....or if my GF is over I can pump up in a matter of seconds and slip it into her and spend a lazy 20 minutes or so pounding her gorgeous pussy, counting off the orgasms and then pull out and spray her tits or face, depending on whether she washed her hair the night before.....it's about the only condition she places on me wanking off over her. She says it turns her on like crazy watching a man pull himself.
Not sure why I love her so much!!!
Look sometimes you just have to paddle fast, drop over the lip, slide down the face on a rail with only one fin biting the wall, lean into a big bottom turn and then pull up into the barrel........either reap the rewards or get slammed.....to use a surfing analogy....
I am deep in the pit.....regularly......and all because of my Titan implant......cowabunga!!

I had great success with bimix for a few years. I liked bimix better than trimix as it didn’t need to be refrigerated, and it didn’t cause pain like trimix did. But I started needing more and more and then became ineffective. Tried higher strengths of trimix and quadmix and finally it just stopped working all together. It would only give me a semi. 6 or 7 months of shear frustration of trying injections with pumps and ring. I was diagnosed with a venous leak. My urologist asked if I ever thought about an implant earlier. I said oh heck no. After the 6 or 7 months of failure I finally warmed to the idea of an implant. Went for consultation and was implanted 3 weeks later. I should have done it a few years ago. I’m very happy with my implant! I can fuck again. :D

Thank you all. I'm sure you've all posted those thoughts before and I appreciate you taking time to help me sort this out. I'm getting a vial of Tmix from a 4th pharmacy with a 4 different mix, stronger each time. Also worried about scaring. The only difference I can tell... I started using 31ga needle. Those just bend at the Tunica so I'm up to 29ga. There's my Sign....

Think I'll take up surfing...

Pills quit working and injections both hurt and did not work enough to provide the motivation to continue.

Hey LookingUp,
I was never excited about injections. I have been using them for the past several years, but they’ve been hit or miss (ha) for a while and I have just felt stopping to inject (#$@! Did I leave the damn shit in the fridge downstairs?) interrupted the mood.

I decided I wanted the relative spontaneity and confidence an implant offers and am going ahead with my procedure next month. A Christmas gift to me and the woman I adore.

I realize everyone has to reach their own decision in their own way. This was mine.

Thanks for the opportunity to share.
