Update - Almost 6 weeks post op I had my long awaited activation this afternoon :D.

Pros
- Surgical incision still looks good, no sign of infection. I still have soreness and some pain there but it is very slowly getting better.
- My new bionic dick works as expected! Doctor successfully inflated and deflated me for the first time post surgery.
- I also managed to pump it up and deflate it myself in his surgery (a lot more clumsily than him). It's like when you first learn to drive. You know in your head what to do, but it feels completely alien at first.
- I can locate the pump bulb and deflate button easily, and the position is easy enough for me to grip and operate them. As it is new, the pump is stiff to operate and will eventually soften with use. I also need to learn to pump more slowly, but I'll get there.
- The MS pump is very quiet. No squeaking or other sounds detected, I can just feel a quick rush of fluid during deflation.
- I no longer have to walk around with a boner 24/7. Despite the soreness from starting the cycling process I feel more normal.
- Now that I'm not constantly erect urination is much easier, and I don't seem to be spraying either.
- It looks like I will now definitely be a "shower" compared with being a "grower" previously. I'm happy with my new bulge.
- Strangely I think erect girth is about the same as I originally had (without using a VED), and flaccid is actually bigger, but I don't have accurate measurements for a proper comparison. Maybe even when deflated the cylinders add some girth?
- Started cycling in the shower this evening and I did a reasonable job, not perfect, but I'll get better with practise.
- Doc's instructions are to cycle twice a day, preferably in the shower initially. And while erect, he wants me to perform a type of "joystick" exercise that he demonstrated fairly aggressively then had me do the same. I recognized it as the Perito exercise that I've seen on Youtube.
- I think I impressed him by correctly pronouncing tunica albuginea .
- Sexual activity can recommence! :D Hoping it will be pleasure rather than pain but that may take time.

Cons
Most of these things I was expecting from reading about the experiences of others on here (thank you!), so I'm not freaking out about anything.
- Sheesh! It hurt when he pumped me up for the first time. I thought my dick was going to explode, and doing the Perito exercise was painful also.
- He accidentally grabbed one of my testicles at one point, which wasn't a great feeling but I recovered quickly.
- Like most others I'm not yet able to attain pre-op or pre-RRP erect length. I know that will improve over time with cycling etc. I think flaccid length will possibly also increase, even though I'm already bigger than before in that state.
- Pain and soreness immediately after the initial activation and again when I cycled in the shower. Again I know that will get better over time.

So overall the pros outweigh the cons, and I have the tenacity and self discipline to maintain the required program of cycling etc to get the best outcome possible. I'm just so happy to get a bit closer to normal. The journey continues...

You're doing great Mate! Your update sounds exactly like my 6 week experience. It all does take time and sometimes you want it to go quicker.
At 6 weeks I was cleared to have sex, but I still had too much pain, so I waited two more weeks till week 8, but sex wasn't great and my dick hurt for two days afterward. I emailed my doc and told him about the pain and he said that I over did it and to just take baby steps. He was right, you have to continue to heal and get the hang of this new Bionic Dick. It was good to have a hard dick again but I know I wasn't pumped up enough for good sex. Like you said in your update, it's like learning to drive a car, but Downunder it definitely gets better every week.

Thanks mate :). Thanks to the great information and support on FT I'm not too concerned about anything that's happening right now. Without that I might be panicking a little about some things. I had another go at cycling in the shower this morning. This time I was more aggressive and maybe marginally more competent. It still hurts of course but I felt more relaxed while doing it, and I was able to achieve notionally slightly more length. Spraying my boy bits with hot water helps with discomfort. I need to develop a strategy so I don't waste so much water though . I did start pumping early on and left my dick erect while washing myself. My uro suggested only doing 8 to 10 minute sessions initially, so that kind of works. But we were going out for the day and a bit short on time, so I skipped the Perito exercise. I'll resume that next time. I might also try a session not in the shower and see what difference it makes.

Downunder, I couldn’t do the Perito exercise stretching fully inflated, it just hurt too much.
I would do it a little different, I would pump up to 70 or 80 percent in a hot tub of water and stretch my dick in all directions for 5 minutes and then I would inflate to the max and see how long I could go without crying uncle!
I would do this along with my everyday cycling 2 to 3 times a week when my wife would do her morning walks in our neighborhood. It helped that we were already empty nesters. The warm bath water helped me get through those sessions.

Yes, I suspect it might be a no pain no gain thing with this. I'm obviously still experimenting to see what works and hopefully gets the best outcome.
Haha, I've already been close to tapping out a couple of times, but keep forcing myself to try and hold on just a bit longer . While it can be painful to try and max it out I'm appreciative of the end goal. I had a much better go this morning out of the shower. I think it's easier to pump dry; less slippery. I then did the Perito thing in the shower, and applying hot water definitely helped relieve the discomfort. Before showering I also tried masturbating with a vibrator while fully erect. My first post activation sexual experience. Even though I was very uncomfortably erect and literally as hard as a rock, the orgasm felt great. A good sign for when my wife and I get back to fucking, hopefully in a few days :). Not quite empty nesters as we still have an adult son living at home, but he's usually working or doing his own thing. So we can generally do as we please. But no hanky panky this week anyway; we have a very young granddaughter staying over for a few days during school break.

p.s. I just woke up to the connection between your forum name and the Specialized S-Works bikes. I can be a bit slow at times .
Which reminds me that I forgot to ask my medical team the other day when I can start riding again. Need to follow up on that and a couple of other things.

Update
First attempt at PIV sex today. A mixture of pain and pleasure.

Pros
No problem getting an erection.
I was really hard within a minute of pumping.
My wife was happy that she didn't have to wait while I fiddled around with a VED.
It was pleasurable at times.

Cons
It was quite painful at times.
I had difficulty getting the angle right, couldn't thrust successfully for very long before falling out.
Felt like I needed more erect length, although it looked adequate visually. Maybe I should try pumping less?
Had to stop before I could orgasm because the pain was getting too much.

Overall I guess it was an OK first attempt. I know others have said that they found sex too painful this early.
I'll continue with the cycling and try again in a few days.

Downunder, my experience was exactly the same as yours, but I think I had waited till week 8. I know for sure now that I didn't have my Bionic dick pumped up enough for good penetration, but at that time, that's all I could get in without a lot of pain.
You'll get there Mate, it definitely gets better :!: :D
For me, PIV sex was back to normal around 4 to 6 months, but keep cycling your implant and keep practicing sex.

Downunder, one of the things that has really helped for us, is my wife started hormone replacement therapy (using pellets) about a year ago and it has really made a difference with our sex life, my wife gets more horny and she gets super wet when we start foreplay.

Keep getting better Downunder,

Thanks again SWorks. Yes I'm still at the stage where I can only tolerate so much pain, and I can't force progress.
I know the cylinders will eventually soften and start to expand further with my own tissue, and the pump will also loosen up a bit more.
Similar for us, my wife gets very wet when I stimulate her either with fingers and/or a vibrator. Dirty talk helps as well ;).
She hasn't needed HRT post menopause but does have other medical issues (like many of us at this stage of life).
I was also going through a lot of lube, as we were at it for quite a while before I finally tapped out.
I'm now in a regular routine with the cycling. Once I'm on a mission I always stoically stick with it, rain, hail or shine :).
