Ah f*ck...8 days in, lump @ base of new implant causing extreme bend. Is this serious? Help!! [warning, pics included]

Postby eustinas » Fri Oct 22, 2021 5:35 pm

CONTEXT (read first):

First things first, yes I am asking my doctor, but I have to wait till tomorrow -- I lost my phone on the way home from the airport last week (I'm a genius) so I'm waiting for their office to get back to me to resend me his contact number.

My Titan Coloplast 20+1 was implanted by one of the top US implant surgeons 8 days ago.

The doctor left me (I estimate) 30-40% inflated. A day or two later, he offered to deflate me before I flew home, but I didn't end up taking him up on that. That turned out to be a huge mistake.

Since that day, swelling in my ballsack has meant it's far too difficult and/or painful to deflate properly or b) easily find within the swollen scrotum. I kind of wish he had warned me of this, and recommend to EVERYONE to deflate before you go home if it's offered to you.

So, it's worth noting that I've been (I think) ~40% inflated for 8 days straight now.

THE PROBLEM

In the last 2-3 days, a "fold" in the implant tubing has progressed to the point you see in the pictures from today. I've read that the Titan can have "accordion-like" folds, and that feels like what this is, although it's only one fold rather than multiple. 8

The bend is being caused by the feels like one side of the tubing protruding/folding and pinching on the right side of my shaft, which you can clearly see in my image -- this is causing the entire shaft to go straight from the point of the bend, causing a jarring and pronounced leftward angle slightly upwards from the base of the penis. It is noticeably sore where that "pinch" is happening.

I want nothing more than to try and cycle the implant to (literally) try to straighten this out, but again, just 8 days out from the procedure my ballsack is swollen and sore that even pressing slightly on the pump is agonizing.

My questions, with the full disclaimer of understanding that you're not medical professionals and that yes, I WILL only take my doctor's advice when I hear back from him:

- Has anyone else experienced this?
- Does anyone know if this is serious (i.e., capable of affecting the final result?)
- Am I at greater risk of scar tissue forming?
- (And, potentially, if so) Should I get piss drunk (civil war style) to dull the pain and try to cycle my implant to fix this? (Doc said day 7-10 is good window for first cycling; it's day 8 for me)

I'm doing my best not to freak out but this past 8 days has easily been the hardest of my life, and I want to know if this is a serious medical complication or a possible deviation within the normal healing process.

Anyway, pic:

Note: My glans looks gnarly, but it's "just" bruising from the surgery.

In the first place many men are sent home inflated for 6 weeks. There is a paper in the documents worth rending thread in the general section of the forum about the "Coffin Effect". This tend to show some size loss post surgery with longer activation. So you doctor agrees with that and has men cycle as soon as they can. But everyone is different and some take longer than others. So no need to worry about being inflated. I was left inflated for 3 weeks. Now that bend is another thing. And one you can talk with your doctor about.

Best of luck to you with this. Many problems will self correct or decrease enough that you do not have to have a repair.

I was 50% inflated for 6 weeks and had a similar bend which caused great discomfort. Good news is that everything got better over time and all ended well. The pump and release is difficult at first due to, swelling, stiff mechanism which will soften over time, and user inexperience. Still talk to your Dr, but from my experience, things may well be ok. Good luck.

Thanks for this man, I was hoping to hear of someone who got through something similar OK. Of course I'll talk to the doc and update in here.

May I ask how long you had the bend for? And how did you resolve it -- through cycling?

It mostly went away at 4 months, but some small bend to the left remains when deflated. I tend to put just enough inflation in to straighten all the kinks and bends for comfort. About 5 pumps or 15% inflated. This does result in a somewhat visible penis which I route down one leg or the other but is most comfortable.

I was inflated 80-90 % for 4 weeks. Talk about pain. Wanted to dump the pressure at 3 weeks but couldn't bring myself to push the release button. At 4 weeks the doc punched that release button and I elevated 3 ft. OUCH. Pushing the release is easy for someone else to do. Is the bend you now have the same as your old PD bend? I was kept hard all that time to straighten the old bend. Also your delima is why I used a local to me surgeon.

I have a similar problem. the protrusion happened after the first inflation. it is as though the tubing is jutting out. it looks very shabby and the girl commented on it. is urs just a bent or is the tubing visible?
