Malleable vs 3 piece

Postby Biker60 » Sun Mar 28, 2021 3:25 pm

Well seeing uro to schedule my 1st revision. It lasted all of 14 months. I know it my be drastic but what are the pros and cons of the rigid implant. I assume girth is less then my coloplast. I know there is more chance for erosion. But not having to revise it yearly is a plus. Just asking.

Biggest situation aside from erosion potential and lower girth that I know of would be stowage? You'll always have a stiffy, it's just where you put it (UP or DOWN).

Forgot what it felt like post op with the new flaccid. It just kills me that it died this fast. I don’t know if connectors failed. I would feel tubing in left groin. When I inflated that tubing got harder. Now post fail then tubing can not be felt. Pain where left cylinder meets pubic bone.

Failure in 1 year is far outside the norm. There is no reason to expect that it will happen again. That is not the reason to switch to a malleable.

Talk with your surgeon about your concerns but I expect that your next IPP will last far far longer.

Just the process of doing this all over again. In know I am jumping the gun on this. Just it all happens at the wrong time.

Mine failed after three years. Hate it. But I loved the three years.
I'm healing from last week's revision and it is MUCH better than the first time around.

Well it’s set for next week 4/9 will be revision 1. Hope the 2nd one is the charm. The implant while it worked was great. No issues with that.
