I'm not great at describing the one I saw in an implant surgery video. It was two white rods that got cut to length. I did not see any "hinging" spot nor any area that was more flexible than the rest. From my observation, this particular model meant that it was designed to be just hard enough for sex but soft enough to bend out of the way. In my opinion it did each barely passable. Ah, a better description would be about the firmness of string cheese.
Back around 1990 my late father in law had an early ridgid implant. His fingers were deformed from arthritis. My understanding back then, that his had a soft spot at about the pubic bone level. This allowed it to "hang". He could move it to pee or lift it for sex. He seemed happy so I left well enough alone.
Malleable Video?

This is a Rigicon but I think it's similar to the Tactra and the Coloplast offering too. See the bend in one of the rods in the picture?

I've found lots of videos of guys pumping their inflatable but my wife (and I) would really like to see something other than a cartoon showing the adjusting the malleable rod implant up and down.
I've searched online and in this forum but haven't seen any real life video.
Anyone have any links?
Thanks for your help!
Wish you a fast and easy recovery from your upcoming surgery.
It is a good idea to have an implant as soon as you can after the Prostate removal. The length loss will be minimal. May I know why you are only considering malleable implant?

Re: Malleable Video?
I'm not just considering malleable. I am just trying to research every option. I've found tons of videos of guys pumping but have still yet to see one guy showing or demonstrating a malleable.
Do you know how soon after surgery an implant is possible> The quickest of anyone I've found so far is one year. I would love to get one as soon as possible.

Re: Malleable Video?
Spacecoast. I had my Prostatectomy on 1 August 2019 and was implanted 1 February 2020, so six months. The cancer had spread outside the Prostate so the doc had to take a lot more tissue plus the nerves on both sides. I knew I would never have a natural erection again. I immediately started using a VED to try and preserve some length. Tried Trimix and while it worked left me with painful, hours long erections. Its not as fun as I thought it would be to have an erection lasting more than four hours.
All in all I am glad I didn't wait any longer to become bionic. Best decision I ever made.

Re: Malleable Video?
I was also looking into a malleable somewhat before my LGX implant but, like you, couldn't find any video's of anyone who actually had one. Now my guess (and I may be wrong) is that the malleable is only used by someone who doesn't have the dexterity to operate the pump on an inflatable implant. This leads me to believe who that group of people would be. My guess (and again I may be off base here) is, that group is probably elderly or somewhat handicap and may not be very open to having their junk on video on the internet. Plus I'm guessing the malleable is a MUCH smaller part of the implant market that there just aren't as many out there. I would love the see a video of someone with a malleable implant just to see how well it works. Also bear in mind that I was part of a study (found out about it here on FT) on a product that looks to be the next step in implants and I'll just say it takes the "not being able to operated the pump" out of the equation. Anyway, if you find a video of someone with a malleable let us know.

Really the best decision you made. I can't regret waiting more than 3 years after RP to get my implant, as I didn't have any idea about it before 2020, and it took me time and insurance arrangements to get it finally done.
I believe 6 months is the ideal interval. During this time you could be on Viagra on daily basis or VED.

Lunatech, can you share a link to the next step product? I'm having my prostate removed in May so I'm probably 9 months away from being able to get an implant. If there's a better option coming I can wait longer

I don't know to what level it's in development yet but I too was surveyed about a possible IPP that is electrically inflatable via a rechargeable battery and a fob or cellphone app. Recharge wirelessly through the skin like some cellphones are capable of today.
