18mm diameter titan cylinders

Postby buckster » Tue Oct 13, 2020 4:51 pm

Just implanted this morning. Doctor said I had damage and to scaring at the base of the penis from radiation. He had to use more aggressive dilation of the lower penis. He tried but couldn't fit the 22mm and had to go with 18mm diameter cylinders. I had RP surgery and 40 sessions radiation 11 years ago. I'll have more details in the AM when I get the catheter out. Was still a little loopy when I talked with the doctor after the surgery.
Anyone else have the smaller titan cylinders? Thoughts?

All I have for you is my thoughts. No experience with the Titan Narrow (18mm).

He tried. Stretching your corpora simply was not possible, so you got what you got. Perhaps if Coloplast made a 19mm or a 20, he could have fitted that, but it is what it is. Besides, it is likely that, since you were narrow before the operation, you have lost little or nothing in girth.

The upside is that you will have a rigid penis. No matter the diameter, you will be able to be inside your partner.

The other upside is that your spongiosum is probably intact and as you get aroused, your girth and glans will fill out.

Thanks. After years of dealing with other not so successful methods, pills injections and VED, I'll be happy with a functional tool. I was never thick anyway. I did have some blood flow with arousal. Hopefully that will continue.

So Lostsheep if the spongiosum is intact does that mean if the implant is removed the penis will still get erect?

Not Lost Sheep but no, the Spongiosum is the erectile tissue around your urethra that includes the entire glans. That by itself, even if it gets erect, is not enough to have a functional penetrating penis. The corpus cavernosum ("corpora cavernosa" for plural) are where the implant cylinders are installed. They will no longer function properly if the implant is removed.

Just wondering out loud, but if the doc could not get 22 cm diameter cylinders in because of thick tissue or scar tissue and put 18 cm in. Once you pump up shouldn't you actually be the same thickness you were before. The 18 mm cylinders will inflate up to the room they have to expand right up to the thicker tissue, then the thicker tissue is there to make up the rest of your diameter. The down side is if the thicker tissue is not uniform, but if he dilated all the way up and down the shaft it should be pretty uniform.

So wouldn't you end up with the same thickness either way.

That of course would not apply if he measures and the biggest he could get in would be the 18 mm and there was no scar tissue. That would be all you get.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.
