Prescription pills vs natural supplements

Postby Aristotle » Mon Jun 01, 2020 11:34 pm

Are there any natural pills or supplements that are just as or more potent that prescription medications?

Prelox is an excellent natural supplement and there are studies that show its efficacy. I've tried it and I highly recommend it. Don't expect immediate results, though: it has to be taken daily and it's not as spectacular as Viagra or Cialis.

There are a lot of clinical studies that measure the effectiveness of herbal supplements. As a broad generalization, they show no effect, or little effect.

But here's the big problem - even if you want to use supplements. The herbal supplement market in the US is very poorly regulated. You literally don't know what you are getting. Studies have shown that as many as half the products on the shelves don't contain what they say they do. And that's not just no-name brands. The NY State Attorney General actually filed lawsuits against many of the major brands (Walmart, GNC, Target) for deceptive labelling.

And the FDA has found hundreds of products that contain chemical contaminants, including pesticides.

So, my take on herbal supplements is this: at BEST, they don't help very much, and at worst you may be wasting your money or even endangering your health.

I've posted an article on this with citations - pay particular attention to the safety section, because it's pretty scary:

Supplements like the 5 Gs, l-arginine, tongkat ali etc are more about long term penile health and improvement. I've had reasonable success by sticking to regimes with cycling. My only mistake was not continuing but now I've restarted :) but it takes a few days to feel the effects.

Whereas prescriptions are on demand and very potent. And although I try to avoid them, I can see why people take them.. a 25mg Viagra gives me rock hard erections on demand and I can feel the effects two days later! So much for 4 hours :)
29. Mild ED since 2018 most likely caused from CPPS. Can still have hard erections and have sex but morning wood is rare and also have PE. May occasionally take Viagra 25mg with good results.

What are the 5 Gs?

L-arginine is one of the ingredients of PRELOX and it is definitely effective but it may have a negative side effect: hair loss.

I was taking l-arginine and experienced some shedding recently: I quit, started taking Avodart and my hair is great now.

Thanks for the advice. I also would like to take some supplements, but I will first do the blood examinations. My nutritionist gave me a list of tests that I need to pass to understand the general situation of the body at the moment. Unfortunately, I suffer from constant stress and dipression. More than that, there appeared the problem of and overweight. He thinks it's all interconnected. In the meantime, I'm taking the Nerve Control 911 review. So as not to go completely crazy. He has an excellent composition of natural herbs and very positive reviews.

When my ED started I tried several enhancing supplements. Did the 4 G thing. Looked at many other supplements that all seemed to be some combination of the 4 G's and other stuff. Nothing worked. Viagra worked for about 4 years.
