having fluid drained from growth on testicle...

Postby wolfcreek » Thu Apr 02, 2020 7:42 am

A year or so ago I noticed some pain in my right testicle (and it didn't feel exactly right - had a bump/nodule on one side) The doctor did an ultrasound and said there was a small growth that needed to be drained (aspirated). So he stuck a needle in and drained the growth. It was good after that, but now the slight pain/bump has returned. I think it may be caused by the too high pump placement (AMS CX implant 2.5 years ago). Anyone else experienced anything like this??

Has not happened to me. At least not in my testicle.

Does your doctor think analyzing the removed substance (essentially a biopsy) would be worthwhile?

I may have a similar situation. I have had pain around my left testicle particularly in one spot. The Dr said it was a cyst. Googling testicular cyst seemed to indicate it was fluid filled. It bothered me enough to want to remove it. The chance came when I needed prostate surgery which was to be the green light laser procedure. The Dr said it could be done at the same time. It was done February 13th.
My testicle is still a bit tender but it is definantly better than the sharp pain.
Incidentally, my LGX implant of December 3, 2018 is still great!

Don't they call them "hydroceles"? I've got similar but not on my testes. My left epididymis has several cysts which are up to the size of an English Pea. They have been known to be tender if one was squeezed by mistake. I still have them (and my pump shares the left side of my scrotum). My cysts are called epididymal cysts.

Waynetho, A hydrocele is the membrane sack around the testicle that fills with fluid. It is not on the testicle but would be like a tight balloon with the testicle inside. It is uncomfortable when it gets bigger.
The Dr can drain it, but it will usually refill quickly. I've had both conditions and have had them fixed because of comfort.
Guys, have you noticed how many nurses are needed for this type of operation? There were 5 to 6 nurses in the OR when I walked/was wheeled in to the room. Seemed like more than needed. I almost said "Show time" before the hydrocele procedure.

Ouch Wolfcreek. Not funny but actually that's the story I've been using (growth on a testicle) after my implant surgery. You know how the kids and other people want to know what surgery you had that kept you down for so long. LOL Sure not telling my kids a bionic penis so mom & I can keep doing the nasty.
Good Luck finding out what's next.

The surgeon at first thought it was something called a testicular appendix. He drained (aspirated) about half a small syringe of clearish fluid from it. But this new one seems a good bit bigger than the first one. From my Google research I am thinking it is a testicular torsion?

I'm no doctor but that sounds painful, either to drain it or remove it. One of my clients asked about my surgery, when I gave him the "story" the first thing he asked is "Did they remove your testicle?" I'm not sure if removal would help with your issue but I do know some company makes artificial testicles for replacement.

Actually, draining (aspirating) the growth wasn't painful at all (although the thought of it was, lol). But my surgeon is hesitant to do it again because he is afraid of accidentally puncturing the implant or the tubing or the bulb (thereby causing leakage/failure of the device)...
