Implant or injections?

Postby Toby799 » Wed Nov 20, 2019 2:28 pm

Just wanted a bit of advice. I am 40, wore a cock ring for too long in my early 20's and things have never been the same... For years things worked fine with tablets but over the past few years that's been less and less the case. I've been in a bit of denial about it tbh. So I've seen a urologist and tried the urethral alprostadil cream without success. Now they want me to try injections. It just sounds like such an extreme thing to do and so unnatural and difficult to incorporate into an intimate encounter, even if it does actually work... The urologist was quite insistent that it was better to keep ur unadulterated cock for as long as possible, but I don't know... And all the feedback from people who have had implants is so positive. Wondering if I should skip the injections entirely and jump straight to an implant. What are peoples thoughts?

I'm not implanted and only rarely peruse the Implant sub-forum.

Just bear in mind that when you post this question in the implant sub-forum you are likely to get answers that are weighted towards implants. I won't comment further as you posted the question in the Implant sub-forum presumably to get feedback from those who have chosen that path.

Good luck.

It's OK, interested to know from injectors too. Was thinking some people who have implanted will have had a period injecting to compare it too.

So you are happy with the injecting option?

I'm 75 now, started having ED problems at 58 or so. I tried the pills but hated the side effects. Then at about 60, started using Trimix injections and really loved them. No pain with the injections, worked 99% of the time, had a good hard dick for about 2 hours. Used them for 12 yrs. and they added an inch to my girth, 6.5+". But like all things, they started to fail me, that's when I went for the final solution the implant. It was done June of last year and I LOVE the thing! I'm the same erect size I have always been, 5.5" x 5.5" but what really change is my flaccid size. I have always been a "turtle dick" grower, less then an inch flaccid, now I'm 4" flaccid, I really love that!
Yes, the injections can be a "pain" to keep and use, must be refrigerated, take some preparation and can be expensive depending on your insurance, but they do a great job for most guys. Once you get an implant, there is NO going back, but after getting mine, I would never go back even if I could unless it would be as it was as a teen. But even then I HATED my little dick when flaccid when all my friends had 2 or 3 inch flaccid dicks.
So that is my story. Please PM me if you would like anymore info or would like pictures of before and after of both flaccid and erect, I like to show and tell.
Good luck with your decision, Andy

Bit of a ‘no brainer’ really.
I injected for a year when I could have been squeezing a bulb.
No comparison.....Implant wins every time. :)

Thanks for the advice guys. The implant does sound better on balance! I'm in the UK though so need to jump through some hoops to get the implant on the NHS so will prob try the injections to just see what they are like. You never know I guess! But I suspect I'll be taking the implant plunge within a year. Might also just bight the bullet and pay for private so I can choose the best surgeon too- there goes the deposit for a house 'sigh'. I hear Dr Ralph is good. Although, maybe it's worth a trip to the US for Dr Kraemer or Dr Eid. Mainly I want to make sure as much size is retained as possible (haha this seems to be a recurring theme so don't mind admitting it!). Wonder whether the top US surgeons are in a league of their own in this regard? Anyway, thanks again for all the thoughts. Much appreciated!

Injections if used correctly make it feel natural a lot of good feeling
It can’t hurt to try it ,remember a great partner will always want you to enjoy the experience also

All solutions for ED have pros and cons, I have read on this forum that some guys are very happy with injections so I advise you to read some of their posts.

In my case the doctor also proposed using injections but the idea of injecting my self before sex (3 or 4 times a week), planning around and dealing with potential complications (Peronnies) was not too appealing for me so I went for the implant and I am super happy I did, I got a great doctor, recovery was hard but manageable and every day I feel better with my implant, I can pump it more and more and the pain after pumping is almost gone at this point (my surgery was 4 moths ago)

If I have to do it all over again I would do it without hesitation.

Injections began about 4 years ago. Still works great! Did auto inject for a brief period but just do hand/needle now. Don't see any downside for you to give it a try. Don't consider it a hassle especially when you have a partner to "help" get it ready for an injection. Thats a big part of the enjoyment.
Age 80 good health. Radiation prostate 28 hits 4 years ago with 6 months of horrible ADT. Good recovery and ED worse.
Can't tolerate oral drugs but 5 years of Alprostadil 40mcg/ml 25 units is a miracle for 3 hours. GF is happy!!
