My Uro Prescribed Tesosterone Cream - Some Questions

Postby kinggg » Tue Nov 12, 2019 10:04 pm

Today my uro prescribed me testosterone cream. I will be applying it to my shoulder as he prescribes in the morning. I have some questions for you gents:

1) How long did it take you guys to feel your libido returning to normal?

2) My t count is 280. He prescribed 1.62% trans gel. Is this good enough to elevate my T count well enough to get my libido back?

3) My uro warned me against being prescribed long-lasting T injections which are prohibitively expensive. On the order of $2,000. Why is it so expensive??

Libido started to improve after several weeks. After six months, My total T had increased from 290 to over 800; however, my balls also started to shrink and my PSA increased from 1.1 to 1.8 so my Endo recommended I phase out of TRT.

I had very good results self-administering T injections.
The cost was just $60 for 6 months supply but I had to buy my own needles, syringes, and alcohol pads.

My libito was quite strong and I noticed an increase in strength and stamina.
Recently my uro recommend I stop taking them. Now, my libido is quite weak and my stamina is poor.

I'm another guy paying about $60 for six months of T injections. They're self-injected, of course. I suspect that's also true of the other FT members who are reporting similar costs.

Is your doc's $2,000 estimate based on office visits to get your weekly or bi-weekly injections?

I also do self injecting, my cost is $40.00 per bottle at Walgreens and I use a GoodRX coupon down from $280.00. I printed the first one from online and walgreens has handled it since that

I have used the 1% testosterone gel for 18 years. Unfortunately, I started so long ago that I can't answer your question about how fast it works. My vague recollection is that I felt significant effects in a few days. I prefer the gel over the monthly injections that I started with because I didn't like the cycling effect with the injections where the testosterone level went up and down. I know that others inject smaller amounts more frequently to take care of this. However, my uro did not offer that option. Unlike some others here, I have had no significant change in my PSA level for quite some time. I have read that the gel is better in this regard because the injections cause too much peaking in the testosterone level.

My uro also wrote a prescription for me T level = 152. Mine is a gel, two pumps for each thigh applied once daily. I need to get to Lab for blood work, been 7 weeks since i started. I have noticed/enjoyed a few "Morning Woods" and also, a very pleasurable reunion with the wife after an injection of EDEX40 (Prior injections resulted in "No Joy"). So, for me, I would say about 4 weeks after starting the T replacement gel.
Hope you get good results too!!!

You could try eating less and exercising more........it’s a way of improving T levels

T injections only way to go for me. Get them from Royal Medical Deerfield Beach Fla. Testosterone Cipionate with Anastrozole (Estrogen blocker) 50 Units once per week. Also inject HCG 2x p wk 50 units subcutaneously which prevents ball shrinkage. total package including needles,, syringes etc. $195 per mo. MUST give blood every 2 mo. to keep red count down. Dr. at RM calls all patients once every 2 mos. and monitors our situation. Noticeable increase in libido and performance in bed.

2 years ago my Uro prescribed Testopel timed release pellets and they were killer good, felt like 19 yo again. Only prob was cost of $1400 for 3 mo treatment. Couldn`t afford it.
I`m 75 yo, single and see young escorts frequently. Learned plenty on this TRT subject on YouTube.

I am currently in Thailand where I take Andriol Testocaps 40mg capsules.
Very economical here but I know they are not available in the US.
One a day has been great for me.
Having an implant, losing 30lbs and taking the testosterone have made me function in bed like I did 50 years ago.
I am feeling very smart for taking control.
