Is Venous Leak Possible?

Postby nick.young1888 » Wed Oct 09, 2019 3:18 am

I am a healthy 27 year old male. In the past 7 months I've been having very inconsistent erections and I have seen tons of doctors and all of them say that even though I am not gettig as many erections as before doesn't mean I have ED. They explain that mechanically everything is ok but I just need to see a counselor to get rid of my anxeity so my erections come back strong.

I just read about venous leak and it got me kinda scared. While masturbating, i noticed that as soon as I take a quick break my erection goes down quicker than usual. I haven't had intercourse in the past 7 months but I have made out with some girls and some girls gave me oral and I had an erection the entire time. I also used to get wood every single morning before these past 7 months. During these 7 months my wood decreased to 2-3 times a week. These days i get like 1 morning wood per week. Some nights when I wake up to roll over on the other side I notice I have wood but then I wake up in the morning and I don't have wood.

Does this sound like venous leak? Anybody with venous is more than encouraged to please let me know if they get these symptoms.
I imagine somebody with venous leak would never get morning wood since their penis isn't storing the blood and also wouldn't be able to store the blood while aroused and making out with girls. I am I correct in thinking so? I really do not want to take the doppler test. I refuse to have any injection to chemical enter my penis.

So you had venous leak for 6 months? Do you know what caused your venous leak? I just want to rule out venous leak for my situation. If I can still get morning wood even once a week I wonder if that rules out venous leak.

“Some girls gave me oral and I had an erection the entire time.”

This situation indicates to me that you do not have a significant issue with veneous leak. Veneous leaks do not come and go.

Examine your lifestyle, diet, exercise, stress level, blood chemistry, general health checkup. Rule out all other potential causes. Apply the least invasive treatments for your E.D. first. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies, too can influence erectile capacity.

Yes, men with venous leak can get morning wood. Blood flows in, blood flows out. When the outflow is sufficiently closed blood stays in for long periods of time. If the blood leaks out more quickly than it flows in, the erection collapses. Sometimes more quickly than other times. If arterial flow exceeds the leak, an erection can be maintained. Over time (minutes or seconds in my case) the leak increases as the veins constrict less and less (they get tired of holding?). My knowledge of the organic hydraulics involved is limited. Discuss with your urologist (particularly helpful would be a urologist specializing in male sexual dysfunction - such a specialist is more likely to be the most knowledgeable).

Hmm very interesting. It doesn’t really make sense that a morning erection wouldn’t rule out a venous leak. If night time erecrions last at least 25 minutes then obviously a leak wouldn’t be possible in this case if the penis can hold blood for at least 25 minutes. Also, morning erections and erections would be chronic and weak for venous people sufferers right? Plus there should be a cause as well whether it is due to peyroines disease or a penile fracture. I don’t have any health issue for this to occur.

I have now had a penile implant for two years due to a Venous Leak. I developed the symptoms at age 30 (now 63) but went to an endless list of doctors before one actually sent me for a penile Doppler test that confirmed the VL.

I could get a very hard erection while in my back, but lose it when I moved or was on my stomach. I am sure that had to do with where the leak was on my shaft so your symptoms may vary from mine. My point is that it is indeed possible to receive oral sex and have a firm hardon but not be able to have intercourse.

Also, I had morning wood nearly every day of my life from puberty right on through the last night before implant surgery at age 61. When I was younger (pre VL) I could get out of bed with morning wood, walk to the bathroom, turn on the shower, and still have to wait for it to subside enough to take a piss in the toilet. With the VL my morning wood disappeared before I had my feet on the floor, but would last and last if I just laid there.

My situation seems similar to what you are going through so I hope sharing my experience is helpful.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

What was tour cause for venous leak?
When you had sex did you have sex with a limp one?
I’m sure if I tried to have intercourses while getting sucked I could.

I do not know for sure what caused my VL. I used to use both a vacuum pump and cock rings to be rock hard even though I had very good erections. I bet one or the other probably caused it. Up to age 30 I had great sex with a hard dick. After the symptoms began I did have a limp dick for sex and it never lasted long. If I stayed flat on my back and my wife was in top, if she mounted me and then barely moved, I could stay hard longer.

Hmm... yesterday me and a girl were naked making out and I was standing and still got and maintained a solid erection up until I ejaculated. The erection wasn’t super rock hard but it was average and solid. I don’t really ever get a limp penis when ejaculating during sexual activities or masturbating. So I don’t really know if I’m 100% convinced that I have a leak. I don’t have a chronic soft or limp erection most of the time.

Also, with what you are saying about your morning wood do you think that maybe you got a false diagnosis of your VL? It doesn’t make sense to me how your arteries/valves were able to keep blood inside your penis at all if there was a leak. If you had a leak that would mean no morning wood at all. The blood would just leak through....and even if you did get morning wood it would be soft one low in quality.
