Size of AMS inflate/deflate block

Postby WhiteCane » Thu Sep 26, 2019 8:27 am

Is there anyway one of you could possibly measure the inflate/deflate block for a blind guy? Is this thing pretty small or will I have a Tri-sticle

My doctor gave me a key chain with a pump on it so I could see it and become familiar with it. You may be able to get one, too. It is much smaller than my testicles were in my prime, but as I have aged my balms got smaller and it is more comparable. If your scrotum is tight the pump may be more obvious, but if your testicles hang and their is some room in your scrotum it is not really apparent until you feel
Around for it.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

My packet from AMS had a letter with information, a user DVD, blank medical cards, and a practice pump. The practice pump is the same size as the real pump but easier to squeeze the bulb as there is no fluid to move or cylinders to inflate. And the deflate button while it is the same does not do anything. I would guess there are no internals.

If you cannot get a practice pump from AMS I still have mine. If you send me a PM with your address I can mail you mine as I have no use for it now.

My practice pump block measures 1 1/8" (3cm)X9/16"(1.4cm)X7/16"(1.1cm). The bulb sticks out 1"(2.6cm) from the block and is 2 3/4"(7cm) in circumference. The 3 nipples for the tubes to connect to stick out 3/4"(2cm) opposite the bulb.

Extremely thankful for all of the quick responses! Where did you guys inquire about receiving a practice pump? Do you think it’s worth it 25 days before surgery to try?

I found that practicing with the "practice pump" of no value at all.

Feeling around my scrotum after implantation (and the fact that I had researched extensively in the time prior to surgery) was all I needed. Once I located the release button and the pump bulb, the only issue was the tenderness of my scrotum and skin.

I believe my sample pump is a little larger than the pump in my scrotum. I am not absolutely certain of this, though. I imagine AMS might have made it so to make up for the thickness of my tissues and skin surrounding the pump and bulb.

In any event, while inflating or deflating, I cannot see anything that I am doing and always totally by feel. So, while I am sighted, I do all the manipulations, in a sense, always "in the blind".

Thank you again, sir! When doctors in the videos say the pump is low, I assume they mean towards the back of the scrotum and pull close to the body? Not just hanging there low in the scrotum when you’re standing up? Sounds stupid but again, covering all of my bases so I know what to expect

My pump bulb is located just right of center and below my balls. When the scrotom is relaxed the pump hangs lower than the balls. When the scrotom is tight the bulb will tuck back along the shaft, between my legs.

Good luck! Never a stupid question!

Yep! You want the pump to hang low so that it is easy to get to. If it is too close to the base of the penis, when you get an erection it will look like a third ball at the base. That is not good. Get it down on the base of the scrotum.
