That is actually my main concern. A question I have yet to ask the doc. If untreated priapism from injections occurs (or I suppose even from pills for that matter) and damage occurs, what is the success rate of restoring erections thru implants?

A lot of that would depend on how much tissue death occurred. I believe that in the most severe cases, amputation has been required. Implant after that would be challenging.

Here are just a couple of journal articles

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2910996/

The good news is that a quick trip to an emergency room (before 4 hours is the standard advice) resolves priapism with little chance of bad after-effects and it is usually 24-48 hours that yields the most dire consequences.

Dalmation,

Give it some time. If you’ve been improving, that’s a great sign. I’d start using pills right away. Talk to your uro.

This is good advice. At your age if you don't have venous leakage, or sever internal nerve damage, I would never do an implant. Nothing feels as good as a blood filled dick. Try all your options first. There are even new nerve grafting experiments in the works now.
