Well, looks like I may be getting implant.

So I only started on the Trimix a few months back. I've done all the pills etc over the years with limited success. The trimix works just fine but causes that burning sensation. Moved to Bi mix solved that. In a couple of my trimix injections we didn't get deep enough causing a lump the first time that went away and the second time that has not. It's been a couple months and the lump still there. As it may, I had a urolift surgery done this last week, and it happens to be the same doctor who does my trimix/bimix and also the same doctor who will do the implant. I mentioned the issue of the lump as we where getting ready for surgery and he looked at it. Peyronies disease is his diagnosis. :( He looked at it a lot closer during my surgery and is pretty positive). He's worried about me continuing on injecting and is talking to be about the implant. He uses the Titian system, with the older pump style. (I have no Idea what the difference is). He said he uses it mainly because it's proven to last where the new models don't have that same track record. They can claim to last, but they have not been out long enough to prove it. He brought out the rubber dick and had my wife and I try it and explained how it all works. He said he would measure me and install a device that fits. I'm 9-9.5 and I would of course like to maintain that. Still, I can get erections on my own from time to time. Of course they don't last due to the leaking, or if wife is on top but it still make me really nervous to go through with it knowing that its the end of my natural erections and I'll be relying on a pump to get hard. Scary. Please try and calm my nerves here.

Hi, I am also going with a Titan implant next week, I did not see any info on your age, stats posted but it sounds like you doctors is on the right path. My you do need a Titan if your penis is 9 to 9.5 " I am close to 7.5" and my doctor said I needed a Titan.
Good luck! Jim

OK, good. Yes, hes said he would use the titan and would be doing a bunch of measuring before hand. What about the insertion cut for the device. He does it several ways, and was talking about going "above the penis" for me, mainly because I'm circumcised and already suffer from a diminished sensation due to it. (I can not orgasm at all from normal vaginal intercourse.) Never have been able to. Even my very first time having sex I just went and went and went... thought it was normal for many years. Now at 52 I know better. The only way I can orgasm is masturbation, tight grip, yes I know this also lowers my chance of ever having a "normal" orgasm, after 30+ year of experience, I know that's not going to happen anyways. Even Oral to me is a nice feeling, and even though my wife like to do it and I just don't get that much out of it. I thought for years that this was the reason for my ED. That I just didn't feel enough to keep it hard. By hand, I can cum 4-5 times a day. I guess I also need to know how this device is going to affect that. You can tell from my rambled typing that I'm a little overwhelmed at this prospect.

Gercoa, welcome to the forum.

I was a little nervous about the loss of my natural erections forever. But ultimately it became undeniable that my natural erections were actually already gone, 99.95 certainly forever.

After that, I had no hesitation about getting an implant and the only delay was in making sure I got the right surgeon. Never a single doubt.

Your anorgasmia/delayed ejaculation is worrisome, but that is a separate issue. You may find it worsens at first. My orgasms took longer after implant, but in about a year they are quicker than earlier in my recovery, but still take longer than they did before E.D. Even so, I would trade my orgasms for my partner's and the times when I don't orgasm are OK with me because she does. I do orgasm often enough to satisfy me.

When I first joined FrankTalk, I took a couple weekends to read through two and a half years of posts/threads with titles that interested me and appeared informative. I recommend this to you. It will give you a better basis for forming questions and understanding the answers. This will also help get your medical team to accept you as a contributing partner in the decision-making.

I also recommend doing extensive research on your chosen urologist/sexual health physician and interview him (or her) pointedly and make yourself an integral part of the medical team. (Of course, many men choose not to do that and I cannot fault them - just do what is comfortable for your personality and approach to your medical care.)

I work in the same place as my doctor. He's the top in the area 5 stars all around, and a great guy. I've been very impressed with him. As it turns out, my wife (who's a nurse at another practice) has known him and most of his staff for years. My wife is very involved with any of treatments. It's been a fun year. Started with my Thyroid being removed, then my gallbladder, then the Urolift, now this implant... I'm ready for a break.

I had a small complication with the urolift that required a trip to ER a few days after surgery to get a catheter. Wife helped put it in, and later take it out at my doctors office. The issue is that I'm that rare 5% who got blood clots big enough to block everything up...fun.

I've been reading on FrankTalk for some time and have found it to be really helpful. I like that I'm able to talk to my doctor and I know what he is talking about. I try not to go into anything blind.

I think I have the hardest part licked, my understanding and supportive wife.

Hey there

First of all, sorry to hear about all your health issues.
Regarding your ED and your implant, I can tell you a few things which might interest you.
I had mine done nearly four years ago, when I was in my early forties. I had VL since forever. Just like you I struggled to come sometimes from sex (not always like you, but now and then). Especially when I had been drinking. And always if using a condom. I was, like you, worried that this problem would get even worse after implant.
It didn’t. It got way better. Nobody can tell for 100% sure why, but my firm belief is that it depends on two reasons.
One is physical. It is simply easier to come with a hard dick than a semi-soft MF. Which is what I often finished my sex with sine it didn’t stay rock hard for very long. It just faded with every minute…
The other one is mental. Knowing that there is a time limit makes you stressed, whether conscious about it or not. Having the knife edge balance act of wanting to keep going as long as possible to not be a lousy lover, and then having to finish as fast as possible before the crap dick goes down does of course make something with your head.
So nowadays I am in total control. I can come from vaginal sex in a couple of minutes if I want, meaning if I go very fast and hard. I can also extend it for as long as we want. Just knowing that there is no rush, I can take my time, is great.
The biggest problem is probably that being able to do whatever the F I want in bed means I can pleasure my partner to the degree where just seeing and listening to how much she enjoys it turns me on the point where even if going slow, it can be hard not to come just from the sheer excitement her pleasure creates.

As someone above said, Titan comes in 28 cm and is your best bet of maintaining your length without the “help” of a stack of RTEs, which all else being equal, will give you a worse erection after a few years.

Great to hear you have found what you think is a great surgeon. That is the absolutely most important job you have to do right now. Get a good one. You will never get the chance to get it right the first time again. Only now.

Let me just assure you, that a successful implant surgery is a good treatment of ED. Sure, nothing beats a great working natural dick, but since that is not on the table for us, this is as good as it gets. It even has some advantages to the natural dick (the ability to go on forever and to be unaffected by tiredness, alcohol or whatever), but of course has the drawback of not getting hard naturally.
But overall, going from having ED issues to being implanted is just amazing.

Finally, great to hear you have your wife’s support. Seems quite a few around here don’t, which must be tough.

Good luck.

Thanks Merrix. I'll ask the doctor about the 28mm. He is going to measure me etc also. I think give me a dose of bimix as well to to see results. Next appointment in 18th as a final follow up for the Urolift. Interesting side affect of it though, Starting yesterday I have started having really intense orgasms, like I had when I was young. Almost faint worthy crazy, Also, even though I'm still on the Flomax till the 18th, the sperm is coming out instead going in, and a LOT of it. More than I have ever shot, so much even wife commented on it. I've read of guys here having a similar affect with the implant.

I got UroLift implants installed on 8/12/19, right before you did, apparently. What size catheter did the doctor insert after your procedure?

I had previous experience with 14 fr catheters and they feel quite comfortable to me, but I was totally unprepared for the fact that my doctor inserted a 20 fr catheter after performing the procedure. Despite the massive size of the catheter though, at one point after I got home, I felt like I needed to pee (bladder spasm) and out of instinct I went to the toilet. I had clinched my urinary sphincter as a reflex while standing at the toilet and shot a couple of ounces of blood all over the toilet, wall and floor. I freaked a bit but already being familiar with wearing catheters, I knew that when catheterized, sometimes a bladder spasm can cause urine (or blood) to bypass the catheter and come through the urethra, so I figured that was normal.

I then surmised that the doctor used such a large gauge catheter to control bleeding from the implants. Incidently, he inserted a total of 4 UroLift implants which I understand is a fairly common number.

Merrix, In my opinion I dont think anyone can beat your post. You gave some great advice and fully agree with what your experience has been like.
Well done Bro - I think many will take a lot out of it.
