Surgeon doing my 1st inflate/deflate On 7/15/19.

Postby Bailey » Mon Jul 08, 2019 9:13 pm

Guys I’m worried about how much pain can I expect this Monday when the surgeon shows me how to inflate & deflate? Right now I’m feeling pretty good with no pain, so I hope that it’s not too painful. What has the average implant patient felt on their 1st time?

To what extent are you inflated now? It will make a difference when inflating in the future.

My first deflation was the day after surgery. Pinch in my scrotum hurt like a bee sting. But that was over quickly. Ache from being 80% inflated was enduring (which caused my surgoen to partially deflate me that first day before release from the overnight hospital stay).

Take an over-the-counter pain killer an hour beforehand. Just to take the edge off. You will be fine.

The pain is temporary and you bought it when you wheeled into the operating room. Implant should last for over a decade.

There is no need to worry, as worry is neither helpful nor necessary. You made the decision, now follow the path you set. Keep your eye on the prize.

I personally would give the pump a bit of fondling. I'm guessing that you can get an idea of how tender it is. Then follow that lead, whether It's no pain medicine up to a full pain pill if you have one left over. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor for some type of pain assistance if needed.

Thanks guys, I left hospital 50% inflated. After 1 week I went back to surgeon & he deflated me to a very small amount. Not sure if I am still inflated a little bit or not, but it sure felt good when he deflated me from the 50%. I do know that my deflated flaccid size is larger than I was prior to surgery, so I assume I am inflated a small amount. Have been pulling down on pump every time I urinate, & holding it down there for a few seconds. Does the pump ever stop trying to ride up in the scrotum, and stay on the bottom of scrotum? It’s always back up in the scrotum every time I urinate. I am able to identify the pump bulb, but not sure if and when I’m actually touching the deflate button. Surgeon said when pulling down the pump, try to pull down by grasping hold of the tubes which are difficult to find. It does seem a lot easier to pull down the pump while in the shower though.
