Scared but pushing forward

Postby craig45nj » Tue May 14, 2019 6:24 pm

Hi all

Brand new here - I am a 45 year old married male with a VL as diagnosed by Dr. Eid. I am scheduled for surgery in a few weeks and scared. I want to cancel and fast forward a month at the same time. I go back and forth on this about 100 times a day.

Really would like a friend around my age in same boat and situation. Someone who has done it already would be helpful too.

I may be rambling and seem all over the place, cause I am.

I am afraid of the pain, not being happy with what I did, and the finality of it all.

Any advice ?

here are my thoughts:

If you really like sex, then you should go through with the operation (assuming pills and injections do not work).

Shown below are some thoughts that I gave to a franktalk member named jackhammerdreamz:

Hey jackhammer: your note which describes the frustrations you have with "another sex attempt, another sex failure" illustrates exactly the place that you should be mentally before getting the implant. I felt exactly as you did; and just as you allude to, the alpha male approach to this is :

"fuck this shit, I am talking things into my hands and will opt for the nuclear option of fixing this problem once and for all"

You are ready brother. Just remember my mantra when you are feeling scared:
"do not be a pussy, stand up tall and fight this beast called erectile dysfunction like a gladiator"
"Strive to find the best surgeon--experience really matters"
(63 yo, Titan 22cm implant Feb 2017 by Dr Eid) I'm super pleased with my length/girth/implant performance. See my story at "The road to becoming a bionic male: Answers ..."

Knowledge is power.

Knowing what you are in for has the effect is dispelling fear. If you are still afraid, you need more knowledge.

This is my opinion, but firmly believed.

I researched for two years. Once I decided, I never had a moment's doubt, misgiving or a single second of the "WTF did I do" feeling that many men have mentioned here. And this is coming from a guy who has a history of second-guessing every decision I ever make.

Researched almost zero, watched no videos of operations, did see one showing inflation/deflation.
Found a fantastic surgeon, trusted him......followed his instructions post op and I have fantastic cock....possibly better than the original in some ways

You have picked the best of the best to do your surgery. I'M 6 months out and glad that I chose the implant and the surgeon. The pain is tolerable and the healing is quiker than you think. My wife and I both are happy with the decision. You will look back a month after and say what was the reason for all the stress.

I had no hesitation I worried about this worried about that came d day it was ok I had no second thoughts. I’m five days in to the implant. I can’t feel the pipes I have a semi hard on . Left hand pipe is seated beautifully right popped out I put it back in place stress stress stress called surgeon he’s not worried at all. Everything is moving forward I have support from Doug through this in text and voice I really suggest you find someone to walk you through the process the board is great but that personal touch helos

Got my titan on March 7. My wife and I are enjoying. Wish I had gotten it sooner. Like 2 years ago. Took me that long to find a urologist to tell me I had venous leak. If I had been told that at first visit I would have gotten it the next week.

Lots of stories on here about good and bad experience. Have faith and hope for the good one. I had almost no swelling. Bruising only on one side of my scrotum and stopped pain pills after a couple days. Still adjusting to it but better every week. Sex and orgasm for me is the same as it ever was.

Having a hard erection beats not having one every minute of every day. Something happened to this thing today I would be back in a surgeon office tomorrow wanting to know when and what I need to do to get it fixed.

Oh. Every week getting straighter and a little longer. I had a 30 or so degree curve and hard plaque which shortened me over past 3 years.

So happy here. I would definitely advise anyone with ed to go for it period. A lot of opinions on pills, injections, etc. If you do not have a venous leak maybe those work . I firmly believe trying to have sex on viagra with a semi hard erection with blood going out as fast as in caused my peyronies.

Good luck.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.
