Hey everybody !!!

Postby Bassman8416 » Tue Jan 08, 2019 3:18 pm

Hi,
I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I am a 57 yr old male, married(6'4" 240lbs). I have been struggling with ED since my mid 30's. I have always had to deal the with side effects from Viagra, and Levitra...Cialis really does not work and Stendra is hit and miss.
Of late, the Levita is hit and miss as well...Viagra the side effects are just not worth it. God awful heartburn, stuffy head etc. I have tried taking otc meds to help with side effects and they really do not help that much.
I am on hi blood pressure meds, antidpressants and acid reflux medicine as well as testosterone therapy...self injected 100cc per week.
I am at the point, now having a 50% or less success rate with the pills, that I am looking into injections. I have a good urologist and now it is up to me. I am also trying to exercise and eat better along with kegels and other stuff found on PE Gym. My wife is super supportive which is a blessing, but I find myself getting depressed after failed attempts even though intellectually I understand whats going on here. Anyway always open to guidance and suggestions. Great to be here.

Welcome to the FT family. Lots of info here, lots of support. Great group to get to know.
Diagnosed venous leak. Going with injections rather than implant for the time being.

I had logged off but decided dinner could wait. My heart goes out to you. I have suffered with ED problems since my early 20's and by 25 it was a major struggle. At 27 sex didn't happen and my wife left me all because she believed I was having an affair. I found a doctor out of I guess some 20 tries who actually listen and understood. He was close to retiring but he discovered my "T" level was 150mg and after knowing there wasn't a medical reason he started with "T" injections. We discovered if my level was about 850 to 1000mg I did great. I would on occasion have some erection difficulties but I think a little would be normal. By the time I was 38 I started to regress and once again I started looking for answers. I was taking some BP meds not a lot at least not enough to cause problems of the magnitude I was experiencing. I tried everything and found that injections worked the best. You need to know that ED meds were not available so you have one up on me. The injections worked so well that I had erections that would last up to 9 hours. You need to remember at 40 that put me in the early 90's and what was offered was limited. One problem was if you had more than 7 inches dossing was a major problem. I had to use a second injection to kill the the first one. By 42 I was ready for an implant and I have been thrilled ever since. I have had 3 revisions the first because I used mine so much the pump gave out. My last one I have found is the bomb and it is from Coloplast. I now have to take meds for PTSD along with heavy BP meds and pain medication for my back and ankle. The odds are stacked against me but at 68 I have a fantastic sex life with a guy 20 years younger than me. He has trouble keeping up with me. I would add a note here: Talk to your doctor about taking your "T" 200mg every 2 weeks. It is packed in oil and it takes that a while to breakdown in your hip or muscle tissue. You would only have 2 sticks generally in a month and I believe like me you will derive a better benefit from you medication. Sticking as often as you do you end up with small knots and they are sore even if you inject in a different area every other time.

Please feel free to contact me. ALWAYS remember all of these decisions are made on what you are comfortable with. I am a bit older than you and I don't want you to think life is over yet. Men unlike women have a higher need for sex when everything works right. As we get older we hit the snags and many just give up. I never gave up although I felt like it. There is no age on horny and for men that may well drive them to desperate measures and not always good measures.

68, single, have had an implant since I was 42. Goals: to help men with ED; help men over come years of failure; to know their bodies; have a richer fuller sex life whether they or straight, Bi or gay. last I traveled this road starting in the late 60's
