The receptionist asked me why I was thier to see the Dr. I told her it was ED. She looked at me like I was nuts. Then she went over it to explain what was ED. I was trying to be quiet so others in waiting room did not hear me.
They heard her. I was called in the back to see the Dr. That woman asked me why I was thier. She did not believe me and then explained to me what ED was.
Frim look on her face she did not believe me. All Dr did waste a blood test and get paid. I went back was told it would pass. Few weeks later I went to another dr.
Lost count on how many Urologist I have seen.
I was never offered an implant.
I went to urologist after another thru the years.
Mostly I went to sane urologists, nice guy and a reputation of being a very good Dr. Then came Viagra and others.
I tried it. Failed. I was offered injections. I did not want to self-inject.
Years later I broke down and did it. It failed also. The I talked to the main urologist I used for years. I asked about the implant, he told me I would be mutilated. Told me often he has people coming in wanting to take the implant out. I think his main motivation is that it is easier and profitable to sell the injections. I go to big city for treatment. Other Dr asked me how much I paid for Tri-Mix. Being that thier is big difference in price around the country for the Bi-mix and Tri-mix I guess selling it is very profitable.
I saw this site for awhile. Then I finally joined. After that I got the name of a implant surgeon. Then other surgeons.

Your story sounds very similar to my own. I firmly believe many doctors are “owned” by pharmaceutical companies and their interest is prescribing drugs, not solving problems. If the doctor who told you guys wants implants removed was being honest, it is likely because there is another local doctor who doesn’t know what he is doing. The success rate and satisfaction rate for implants is very high.

I am so grateful I finally found an honest Urologist who truly wants to help men solve their problems. After a 30 year fight to get a functioning erection back, I have it and I am over the top happy. I hope you get to this point, too.

Re; Gregg

I was never told about the implant.
When viagra became available they sold me that. Did not work.
For years (Think even before viagra) he tried to get me to use injections.
I did not want to self inject. Finally I did. Did not work. Few months later I saw same Dr.
Told him it did not work. He looked at me like I was nuts.
Told me it works with everyone. Porn stars use it.
Not only did I learn about implant from thus site.
Other people the injections do not work for also. I go to NYC. You how many urologist in NYC.
Bye the way. Yes pharmaceutical companies do own them. I used to know someone in MD field. The drug Co sponsor getaways for them. I think most states now passed laws that it can not be direct. But the Dr's have to go for re-training credits. Then they go to a seminar in Vegas or Arizona where the Co can also push thier product. Then they sign up to
I think review or study the drug. Then the prescribe it and make a few dollars from it.
Yeah it is sleeezy. It depend on state you are from what you can get. Years ago I heard this thing that politicians could no longer go to sit down dinners by lobbyist.
Then they made it they would stand and pass out food in little cups or spoons.
Politician said he would stil eat a meal he just had to stand. Chunks of lobster in a cup.
They still get a meal for free.
By the way the other urologist wanted to know what my regular urolologist charged me for tri-mix. I guess he wanted to know if could charge more. He is in a better neighborhood. So it is about the money.
Very disappointed when I asked my regular urologist about the implant.
He was putting his wallet before my interest. He does not put implants in,
Thank you
Thinking of getting implant. Have not done it because of the length I
have lost.

Developed ED at 18/19 and took me 18 months or so to see a doctor as I kept thinking it was going to resolve itself and as an 18 y/o was pretty embarrassed. When I eventually plucked up the courage, he prescribed me Viagra but told me the issue is likely in my head. He also sent me for testosterone/hormone checks which had me placed on TRT. Viagra didn't work, and neither did the testosterone, but it took me a while before going back to see a doctor......when I finally did they cycled me through the other orals e.g. Cialis - they also didn't work.

Fast forward a couple of years before I decided I really needed to get this sorted. I went to see a different urology specialist who prescribed me Caverject whilst I also sought psychosexual counselling after being told numerous times "you're young, you shouldn't have this issue and it's probably all in your head". Neither worked.

It was at this point I was starting to realise that none of the pharmaco therapeutics would work and I became very sceptical of any treatment. A vicious circle where you believe the issue isn't psychological but also that no treatment will work. I sat in limbo again for a while.....

18 months ago went back to see the specialist at UCLH. In those 18 months since I have had 3/4 consultation appointments and venous ligation surgery before finally being given my implant surgery date of 31-May-18. This tells you how long waiting lists for not only operations but consultation appointments are in the UK.

All in all this has taken 10 years - partly because of the hoops and processes you need to step through in the UK to get to an implant and partly because of my own reluctance at times to seek treatment in the hope things would "magically resolve themselves"
30 yo based in UK. ED for 9Y & complex med history. Tried pills, injections, dorsal vein ligation before implanted with 20cm Titan on 31-May-18. First implant had floppy glans + bad tubing. On 28-Aug-20 underwent a revision to 20cm Titan + 4cm RTEs
