Question for international patients

Hello all!

I wanted your help with this question. For all of you who had your implant in USA, coming from a different country and paying yourselves for the procedure.

Did you have the procedure without any insurance to cover you in case of something going bad during/after surgery?

I have been looking for some type of insurance like this but cannot find anything. My concern is that in the case of infection the wisest choice is to stay and wait for your surgeon to treat you and replace the implant (if possible) but this would cost a pretty penny without insurance in USA

The other option is to go back to your country and get medical assitance (Europe in my case) for free but probably loosing the implant :(

Anybody can help with an answer?
Thanks!
James

Hi JAMes
I feel your pain so to speak. I went through all these options specifically as so many on here are in the USA and only really talk of 2 or 3 specialists as the "go to" surgeons.
As I'm Uk based I wanted to benefit from a. Specialist with many implants completed successfully. The travelling, not being able to stay in the USA and fear of
Problems when back home put me off ultimately and I selected the best and most coveted surgeon in the U.K.
Hope you can make the decision and get the result you require. Paul
