Revision & surgery

Postby Zxylpk » Wed Sep 13, 2017 2:53 pm

Not wanting to be redundant, but I go in for my almost revision on 9/26 - getting my pump replaced and my epididymis removed from my right nut. I'm keeping my AMS CX as that has been serving me well when I'm not suffering from epididymitis which has been a lot of the time since my TURP, two months before my implant. I'm taking pre op photos to try to have a baseline to compare with after surgery. I don't know if I've figured out how to attach a photo yet but here it is if it worked. Doc says my recovery will be about the same as when I had my implant.

Well shit, if it's going to be the say recovery time maybe you should think about replacing the whole thing.

Smetro - thanks
Larry - That's a good question and exactly what I've been asking. But replace with what? My amscx is not even 7 mos old and hasn't been used that much due to my endless series of infections. Cylinders seem to be fine - it's just the pump and my right nut that's been giving me problems, both of which I'll get fixed on the 26th, god willing. But I'm open to other opinions, advice and suggestions. So far the unanimous advice I've gotten from FT brothers is trust your Doctor, which I do. But at this point I don't even know what to wish for except to get well again and resume an active sex life. Thanks for you response.

Trust but verify... Get a second opinion.
54 years old, happily married for 30 years to a beautiful & outstanding lady. Onset ED at 49. Finally fixed on 11/08/2017 by the master Dr. Eid with a Titan XL 26, no RTEs! Previously had 3 AMS implants (LGX & CX), all botched.

Good Luck... I am dealing with an Epididymitis issue myself. Looks like medication is clearing it up... a little concern about my pump. I have a lot of inflammation, but it is improving. It has been a month.

Ok, allow me to clarify what I said... whichever doctor you place your trust in to conduct the surgery, also trust them enough to choose the best implant for you.:)

Thanks guys! Support from ft members is invaluable. I'm scared shitless of going through another surgery - the memories from my first one haven't gone away yet. But at least this time they won't be putting needles through my glans, so I'm hoping for a little less pain, although they will be surgically removing an organ from my right nut. And this time I know not to schedule meetings for the week after.
BBB, re your Epididymitis issues. Hopefully your's can be cleared up w antibiotics & you won't have to go through surgery to fix. I don't know if it's just a coincidence about my pump or if the infections somehow affected it's functioning. It's another question for my Doc. I'll try to keep you posted and I hope you do the same.
All that being said, I'm so looking forward to getting this resolved and getting back in the ole saddle. :D
