Ricky, congrats on making your decision, I know you will be happy with the results. Remember it will that a couple of months after activation for it to be useful unless you are highly movitaved ( able to ignore pain). These thing REALLY work. Which one will you get?

Thanks Ron. I will get the AMS 700 LGX. I get a little discouraged reading about the problems people have on this site, but I realize that it is not representative of all the people that get implant. Stats show that over 80% are happy with results and use them. I like those odds. Also, I am moving ahead because I am not sure that Medicare will always be paying for these things. These would be a easy thing to cut out even thought in total they probably are not a big part of Medicare's costs.

1 out of 5 people are dissapointed? Are you choosing the specific model or is the doctor assisting this choice?

Be skeptical of the 80% happiness/satisfaction figure. It is biased, becuase it is put forth by people with a vested ($$) interests: implant manufacturers, hospitals, doctors, researchers, etc. Also, it all depends on how you define happy/satisfied, I suppose. In some ways the implant is better than no implant, but in other ways it is not as good............. Just my two cents worth..........

Minnesota the dr said that for me theLGX would work the best. I have no reason to second guess him. The 4out of 5 implantees that are happy with results sounds reasonable based on the forums I have been one. The guys that are unhappy are more likely to be on these forms

Mike thanks for the warning. At least it will bring my expectations down.

Yes, hope for the best, but be prepared for something less than that...........

That way, you won't be as crushed as I am with a less than anticipated result................

Good luck!
