Confused...

Postby Type2ED77 » Fri Apr 21, 2017 11:51 pm

Hello all, been lurking for a while but my first post here..

I'm on day 8 post implant , am on hydrocodene 5/325 and was popping every hour they were due to deal with pain.. my dr on day 5 told me to ween off them as he didn't want it to be an issue later.. I tried and the pain is just unbearable so I'm continuing my normal dose. I'm just at day 8 so I don't see a concern, I'm usually good with pain pills so I'm going to continue.

How long does the pain continue usually? I know everyone is different. Just trying to find out if I'm still within normal range.. pain is at a 7-8 without meds, mostly left scrotum and abdominal area where reservoir was placed. I still have some throbbing in penis shaft and tight underwear are just horrible right now(dr recommended to wear tight for 2weeks). I also have these random shocks around my entire effected area, I think it's my nerves kicking back in.

So again, question is is it still normal to have all these symptoms on day 8, and if so, how much longer normally?

Example, as I'm typing this, it's been 8hrs since my last dose(which im stretching) and I'm very irritable, balls feel like they're 10lbs each... I'd rather medicate if it's fine to do so.

Everybody heals differently. Also depends on how much trauma was caused during surgery. Different surgeons cause different amounts of trauma. I wouldn't worry. Give it another week or two. I was prescribed 10/325 which pack a bigger punch than 5/325 and took them until they were gone. Use them if you need them.

everyone heals differently, use the pain meds, I was told that "every day is supposed to get a little better". So, if every day gets a little better, then you are healing nicely

Get rid of the tight underwear! Don't wear any underwear and you'll feel much better. And take 3 x 6 1,000 mg tabletts of MSM a day. Faster healing and less pain.

I appreciate the help guys! Thank you!

I'll keep medicating. I have a decent tolerance for pain but this thing packs a punch, especially in our most vulnerable area...

And I'm definitely ditching the tight underwear 100%, I've been sleeping naked  with a ice pack and a towel at night(still have kids around) and if feels so much better.

I'm actually still pumped at about 30-40% since surgery and underwear fighting against this thing is not cool.

You can't use oxycodone at the rate of one an hour!!! It will kill the pain by turning you into a blithering idiot. MAX is one every 4 hours, and that only for a couple of days. I'm surprised the surgeon is letting you have that many pills.

If you have that much pain something is not right with your surgery.

I was taking them every 4hrs.. so 6 total a day.. now I'm down to about 3-4 a day...

I'm taking hydrocodene not oxycotin.

Pain is not that severe anymore( still a 6-7, gets a fraction better daily) but I do feel it coming when meds are wearing off... I don't expect to be completely free from pain as I just started week 2 of recovery... still having to ice throughout day and swelling is there although minimal.

Even if your body can handle the narcotic, that much acetaminophen (Tylenol) will totally destroy your liver. It would be tragic to get a new penis and then need a new liver!!!

Sharp pains are normal. I still have them occationally and I am 8 weeks out. Take advice of no underwear at all. Much more comfortable and do not sit up in a recliner. Stay flat on your back in the bed. It takes some time to heal. I thought I could go back to work in one week but found out I could not sit on the pump for very long and just worked a couple hours a day for at least another week. Give it some time and you will be ok. Will be getting better each day.
