This Wed. April 19. I have a date with Dr. Kramer for my implant. Getting nervous as to all that can go wrong. After reading on here for several weeks- here is what I have learned. ice ice and more ice. Lay down in bed or in a recliner for the first 2 days. Wear a good support to offset gravity .Hands off the implant until told to do so by Dr. Kramer. I would really appreciate any more advice that you experts feel I should be aware of. thanks in advance

One more question - since I will have a catheder in me - what type of pants should I wear for the trip home that day ?

Hey Woodyhappen,

I am planning to respond to your questions tomorrow, but I just want to let you know that if you are not local (Baltimore or surrounding areas), you should plan to stay and not have any long trip.

Will reply you tomorrow!

I hope I'm not too late, but I do have some advice.

Wear loose shorts for the catheter, but they'll take it out very soon anyway.

GOOD DECISION! DO NOT be nervous. You are going to love this. Let us know how it goes. We are all interested as you join the Brotherhood.

Don't even be nervous- this guy is so cool and so slick, you'll have a smooth check-in, pain-free procedure, everything easy. Hand him your ID before the surgery, he goes to pharmacy and the minute you're done he hands you your prescriptions. A day later you can watch your surgery if you want. Best in the world level work. What's there to worry about?

The big thing for me is to be reclined. Have to keep your legs up, Kramer said this a million times. Ice is fine, but have to lay back.

Yep, laying back in my recliner while my wife brought me bags of ice for "down there" worked fine. (And I've heard some guys recommend using bags of frozen peas instead because they "hug" (?) the area better than ice cubes -- no offense to ice-cube lovers.) ;)

Dr. Caesar told me to get in the recliner, then roll up a small towel and slide it under the scrotum, then put the ice on top. That worked perfectly!
