I asked the anesthesiologist at Kramer before surgery and he said Dr. Kramer has the opposite mind set of Eid on spinal relaxing muscles and he won't do spinal. Said his method with general works better. The week of mine and week after, Dr. Kramer did 7 surgeries and another week he did 6. Seems he usually does about 40% more surgeries in a day more than Dr. Eid.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Wait, I thought general resulted in a long recovery / discharge time then spinal? Maybe I have those facts wrong.
Titan OTR. Dr. Hakky - successful surgery and very happy with outcome.
My advice: choose a world-class surgeon and make yourself the healthiest you can.

Dr. Kramer's anesthesiologist (Patrick) has been with him for over ten years...great guy & a consummate pro himself. I was also worried about general as I have sleep apnea. Patrick explained that they had that covered (his people had called me three weeks before the procedure) & it would be no problem. My understanding is that Dr. Kramer does general only, but you'll be in excellent hands on the anesthesia end...had some mild motion-sick type nausea while in the recovery area but the nurses had that covered as well...felt fine when I was ready to leave. Also felt good about getting the procedure done in a nationally-ranked hospital w/ a world-class trauma team on call in case something unforeseen happened...excellent experience all around.

If the gentleman wants only a spinal, then he has a choice to make between surgeons no ? If he truly has a fear of it, don't push him. Let him make the decision on the path to take... The anesthesia staff for both physicians and the facilities they practice in are fine. I laugh when it's stated you have a world class trauma team backing you up? Trauma has nothing to do here, there are board certified specialist at every facility, so if you'd crump having your dick cut on both Eid And Kramer would get you taken care of... I'm sure there are plenty of world class trauma teams in New York as well maybe more.... Theyre are good and bad with large and smaller facilities when it comes to your heath / nursing care, large facilities move the meat mentality vs smaller provide better care type experience.. I wish you the best in your choice of surgeons..
With a general they give you short acting agents and your woke up out the door quickly, a spinal is a prolonged affair as a anesthetic is injected into the back, and recovery takes longer....

Ps.. Of course Kramer would say General is the best, he is a numbers guy, great guy but none the less it's about $$$$, get me in get me out, Eid doesn't care, he will do what he thinks is best...

I agree that this is a good statement applicable to most US hospitals. However, UM Hospital is the best hospital I have ever been treated, from admission to release. I cannot complain about ANYTHING (and I am a very demanding patient), but can give you example after example about EVERYTHING they surpassed my expectations; just something that my wife and I am still at awe and amazed.

Just go and search on this forum about patients' experiences at UM. It is just a recurring 100% volunteer complement mentioned.
54 years old, happily married for 30 years to a beautiful & outstanding lady. Onset ED at 49. Finally fixed on 11/08/2017 by the master Dr. Eid with a Titan XL 26, no RTEs! Previously had 3 AMS implants (LGX & CX), all botched.

as far as spinal, remember Kramer does the surgery in 20 minutes, eid takes over 2 hours. a spinal for a 20 minute procedure doesn't really make sense since it lasts 4 hours. But when I had surgery, they gave me the choice and let me do whatever I wanted. Kramer didn't bat an eye to a guy who wanted a spinal before me

I appreciate and respect your opinion on UM, I cannot complain about as well about Dr Eids choice of facilities as well, I'm not interested in all the bells and whistles that hospitals use, shure pt satisfaction is big, I'm happy that your happy truly I am. The bottom line I don't care about who is kissing my ass when I walk thru the door, my only concern is having safe competent staff taking care of me, techs to nurses, to Docs....Call me hardened I guess.... you'll be well served by both, it's all about personal choice...

I just called both offices.

To confirm what we have said: Eid prefers spinal with light sedation, Kramer uses general.

I am glad that I was asleep when my implant was put in. If I'd been awake, knowing people down there were measuring my penis, I would have died from embarrassment!

It's enough for me to know WHAT they're going to do to my dick without watching it being done. I get ill watching MASH reruns. CSI or Code Black, forget it.
