Considering implant

Postby sliphill » Tue Mar 07, 2017 10:26 pm

I'm at a point where I am getting frustrated with injections. The trimix injections are not really working, and when I use a ring with it, it's down right painful. I didn't have the same issues with bimix, but the injections just stopped working. Used bimix successfully for 2 years. A year ago I was like, oh hell no when my uro mentioned an implant. Let's just say I'm more open to the idea. I see my uro on April18th and I just might tell her, let's go through with an implant. Talking to my lady tonight how I ordered one of the hardwear horseshoe rings, and a battery powered pump to try. But we are thinking maybe I am just putting off the inevitable. I have told her how a lot of man say that they wished they had not waited as long. I'm 61, be 62 next month, so maybe it's time. I don't know if I am going to get any better.

Consult with a top surgeon. Choosing a great surgeon is your best bet.

Well, I'm certainly no doctor and can't tell you whether you will get better, BUT I can share my experience.

My ED worsened through the years. For quite a few years Cialis worked fine, but at one point it quit working. I have high blood pressure and am on blood pressure meds. According to my local urologist, that causes ED and I wouldn't be getting any better because of that. Not even with exercise.

So, he put me on Trimix and that was like being a young man again. It worked for a couple or so years and it lost its effectiveness and I got Peyronies. According to him, the only recourse left was an implant.

So I went for it. My implant works well. It was really the only choice left at my age of 61. Too young to give up sex!! So implant it was.
62 years old. ED for years. High BP and meds have done me in. AMS 700 CX /3.0 cm RTE Implanted by Andrew Kramer on 10/12/16. Involved revision to relocate tubes and pump performed 12/29/16 by Dr. Knoll of Nashville, TN.

Getting anything implanted in your body is not a small matter. The recovery isn't fun, because your nuts will hurt quite a bit for a while.

BUT, it is worth it, and it will be just as much of a problem next year as it will be this year. Find a surgeon who has done a lot of these successfully, go ahead and do it. Bite the bullet and you will not regret it.

Personally, I am glad I got a Titan, because it is big and strong, and doesn't seem to shrink much at all when deflated. For a fat man like me, that is an advantage. It looks good, and it feels good.

I have an appointment with a DR Michael Oneill here in Charlotte NC on April 3rd. He is 69. I have another appointment with a Dr Ashley Tapscott in Huntersville NC on April 18th. She is 37. Anyone hear of these doctors?

I had a similar story regarding injections quit working and rings starting to hurt. "you are doing the right thing to get the implant" I am very very happy I made the decision

Really, I keep hoping that I will find the right combination, (ring and amount of injection) or that the venous leak gets corrected by the horse chestnut and butchers broom i'm taking. I ordered one of the hardwear rings too thinking that this might help, haven't got it yet, but will keep you posted. We'll see. I'm still a little bit ambivalent about the implant, but if these other things don't work, what else can I do.

Sliphill:
One other factor you need to consider is what I call the "hassle factor". We got so frustrated with pumps, rings, injections its impact on the mood and ambiance, we just bit the bullet and did the implant. We are glad we did and continue to wonder why were so cautious. Now, if one of us is in the mood, we just go for it. Previous to the IPP, we had to assure we had enough time for a prolonged erection to subside, and don't have to rush in case you go limp.
One couple's opinion.
