I don't think any of us here are medically qualified to answer that ...

ZL, i don't know the max # of replacements. I do know multiple posters have stated they had several replacements.

Check with a doctor that does a high volume of surgeries. They would have a good answer.

I got my first implant when I was 53. I'm now 74 and on my third implant. I'm told that as long as I have the physical dexterity (strong fingers) to manage the inflating/deflating of an implant, it will be replaced as many times as are required.

Geezer, could you please answer what years you got each of your implants? Is the life expectancy of the implants improving? And how much more difficult or complex were your 2nd & 3rd implants compared to the first? Thanks.

I got the first implant in 1995 and that went relatively easy for me. That one failed and was replaced in 1999 by a different doctor only because my original doctor had retired. That first replacement also went relatively easy without much swelling or pain, just like the original surgery. The third implant was in 2013 and was done by the same doctor who did the first replacement. It was a surprise to me when this third implant resulted in lots more swelling than the earlier surgeries. I don't know why. I don't know whether the implants of today last longer than my earlier ones, but do know that the first implant that lasted only 3 1/2 years was used much more frequently than my second one that lasted 14 years. I do think there is a correlation between the number of inflation/deflation cycles and failure rate. Since this is a mechanical device, this stands to reason.

Can we get some more replies about people's use-to-duration ratio of their implants.
I am also in my twenties. I need to know if I use the thing every day for a few years if its going to fail within 5 years or last the 10+ years I usually see thrown around on this forum.
So, who here has used their implant for sex multiple times every week and for how many years consecutively?
This is incredibly important for decision making. I dont think I could afford an implant replacement every few years and still shoulder the burden of a raising a family if I ever wanted to.

I am curious about this too. I would say that on a normal week, between actual intercourse and masturbation, I need an erection about once a day. Would this be realistic if I wanted an implant to last more than 10 years? Or would I burn it out in three?
