Don't know those names, but what about the big dog, Perito, in Florida?

Dr. Perito has a checkered record. Also, he uses the perineal approach, which would be difficult due to my deep fat pad. Otherwise, he is well known as an artist and magician.

I saw Dr. Reed for a different matter back in 2002, and he would be my first choice, but he doesn't accept Medicare and I can't afford his fee. Not that he isn't worth it, I just don't have the loot.

Since nobody seems to have heard of either one, I am taking the bull by the (limp) horns. I have an appointment with Dr. Caesar in Cape Coral, FL tomorrow AM.

He is a young man, just started out in Urology practice. I asked him how many of these he has done. He responded he has done just a few since he began his private practice, but he did "hundreds" of them when in training, with no problems. He says he can and will do just as good a job as Dr.Carrion in Tampa, whom he knows. He will do peno-scrotal, and normally uses Coloplast. I will ask him to fix my terrible turkey neck at the same time. I got all this from him at my first routine visit, but tomorrow's visit will be to proceed with preparation for the implant.

I'll keep you all posted, and I am more than happy to receive advice from any of you.

Blessings on your procedure. You know, a urologist has to start somewhere doing penile implants, they can't all have done thousands at first. Hopefully this guy is going to be good. Maybe you could get him sign over his Ferrari to you if anything were to go wrong?

Ferrari, hell! He's only been in practice a year and a half. He's got some good-looking staff that might interest, though.

He says he does 2 or 3 implants a month, and has had one infection in his entire career, including residency, when he did them almost every day. IF it happens to me, he'll do a salvage procedure. He'll put in a Coloplast, and the rep will be there. Going to do it in a surgery center if their schedule allows, otherwise in the best hospital in Fort Myers (Health Park). Says he will leave it mostly inflated during healing, and will order a home nurse, who will remove the catheter and the bandage the next day. Says he may put in a drain, not sure. He says he will be available 24/7 on the phone if I have any problems. Says pain will be mostly in the scrotum, but only for a couple of days. Use ice a lot, and put something under it when I sit down. Date to be scheduled for late Jan., or early Feb., based on availability of himself and the facilities. I'll know in a few days.

Did I get all the answers?

Try to get funds and see Dr. Kramer, he does take Medicare and BCBS. I live in NC and my cost with those was zero. Travel is worth going to one of the best.

Well, I hope this goes well for you. You have gotten a lot of detail from your doctor. I disagree with some of it and agree with other parts. This is based on my experience and reading on this board. If you want specifics, shoot me a private message and I detail it out for you.
