Surgery Wednesday for Implant

Postby olerunner » Mon Jul 11, 2016 1:37 pm

Thanks everyone! I am a new member to Franktalk. I am having surgery on Wednesday, I have my moments of "I am ready to do this" and then moments of "I must be crazy to do this"! I am healthy and 65. I value all the help and support I have received from everyone here. Blessings!

Best wishes for a successful surgery and easy recovery. Keep your ice pack handy!

Good luck in joining the brotherhood. Some Pre-Op tips.......

You should have been taking your colase, if you have not started take it now!
Ice will be your friend, I bought four bags of frozen peas. Plus I had some other ice bags.
Take some chapstick, leave in your room, my lips were really really dry in post op.
When you wake up and the meds start wearing off you will feel the catheter, doing kegels help make it more comfortable.
Take the urinal home, you will be glad, so will your partner.

These tips came from my two threads I wrote after my surgery, search for them for more:
What I know now: Pre-Op

What I know now: Post-Op

Keeps us informed on your progress.

BTW..... IT IS WORTH IT!!!
Bionic with AMS CX on August 14, 2015. Inflated September 15th by Dr. Robert Cornell.
Was 69 with VL
. Pre-Op VED Protocol Therapy and Post-Op VED Protocol Therapy: Pre-Op length by 6th month.
