I had my AMS 700 CX replaced yesterday with a Titan

I had revision/replacement surgery yesterday to remove an AMS 700 CX with a Titan. Dr. Kramer performed the surgery. 24 hours post-op and all is at it can be expected. The AMS 700 CX device failed and was likely to have a leaked based on MRI's earlier this year showing low levels of fluid. Before the operation, Dr. Kramer guessed it was likely to be the tubing and connections to the pump. He confirmed with the surgery, however, that is was the reservoir, which is a rare occurrence (story of my life). He said the reservoir had a very obvious hole in it. It is not clear how it happened since I am not a boxer or practice martial arts. He removed all components since there is no way to confirm that everything else is not leaking. Dr. Kansal at Kaiser in Largo, Maryland also recommended the whole device be replaced for the same risk/concern that if another component is leaking, then it means a third surgery.

With the AMS device, Kramer implanted 21 cm + 1 cm rear tip extenders. With the Titan device, he implanted a 22 cm + 1.5 cm rear tip. Kramer said the 24 cm size was too big. So I was able to get another 1.5 cm in length over the AMS. It's still too early to tell with all the swelling, but it looks to be about the same size as the last one. The cylinders are definitely thicker since I can hear them crinkling when I checked out the goods today to see how things looked down there.

Kramer will see me in two weeks to show me how to use the pump if I can't figure it out on my own, and I can resume sex in 4 weeks. Based on my last experience, the 4-week mark is still a bit rough and painful, so I will predict it will be more like 8 weeks.

And finally, i don't seem to have as much numbness as I did the first time. So I am hoping I won't have a 12 month waiting period before I get all my sensation back.

Good luck indeed! Funny also, that our Nick names are so similar. I hope you are better off this time!

Apparently all went well with the surgery and you seem very satisfied which is a good point. I had the problem with the reservoir on the onset and 4 days later I ended up in the hospital. So glad to hear that all was replaced with the 'GOOD STUFF"....the Titan. It is what the doctor recommended ?

You have been "researching" for quite some time and you have finally joined the brotherhood. Wish you the best!!

Good afternoon. I have Ams 700 cx implant that I'm having problems with. I may have to have it replaced. Please keep me posted on your Titan. My Ams is 18cm and 4cm rear tips. I'm looking at going to the Titan and hopefully no tips. Thanks.

I had a 700CX that failed too. It was also a reservoir failure. I've also had a Titan reservoir failure. So far the 700LGX has been great.

So how are you liking your new Titan? Have you taken it for a test ride yet?

How is your Titan so far. Is there much difference between the Titan and the ams?

Hope you continue to do well with the new implant. When you mentioned the numbness....was that the feeling after the surgery? Apparently you are healing fast if that is the case. Would be good to know how you feel with the Titan compared to the AMS. You seem to have gotten a great fit too.
