Sometimes it's easy to pump, sometimes not so easy

I've had my AMS implant since 9/22/15. At first it was nearly impossible to pump until I figured out that it really takes two hands to get enough force. Maybe once in 20 times, for some reason, the first few pumps take very little pressure. But most times it takes a lot of pressure. It usually takes around 10 pumps to get a firm erection. I'm wondering why sometimes it's so easy and other times it takes so much two handed pressure that squeezing that hard really hurts.
Another question I have is why does it usually take about 10 pumps, but once in a while I can still pump after 35 or 40 compressions. I'm guessing that each of these issues may be related to where the shuttle valve is. At least I imagine there is some sort of shuttle valve involved, and maybe it did not move all the way opened or closed.
Do others here have any of these issues or can anyone explain why this is happening?
Btw, many people have said that squeezing the pump gets easier with use, but so far I've not found it to be getting any easier. So how long does it take before it got easier for others?
