Got an Coloplast Titan Zero Degrees eight days ago: question

Postby strongagain » Thu Aug 27, 2015 10:31 am

Hi, I'm new here. Got my implants eight days ago: Coloplast Titan Zero Degree, 22 cm + 3 cm RTE. Distal 15 cm, Proximal10 cm. Operation was performed by Dr. Christian Leiber and Prof. Dr. U. Wetterauer, Freiburg, Germany.

I'm fine but I need a couple of Ibuprofen, otherwise the pain would be too much. The implants are partly filled, a fact which I hate. Without that filling I would be with much less discomfort. Oh, before I forget it: I'm 65, in 2007 I was diagnosed with colon cancer, the rectum got removed, in total I lost 14 cm of my rectum. Medical aid paid for implants and all other costs involved. SKAT caused me fibrosis, Cialis etc only worked now and then but I never lasted more than a few minutes. The pump helped quite a lot but it caused a lot of discomfort. My wife had no issues with the pump.

Apparantly the implants have to be partly filled, this would speed up the healing process. I have tried to lower the presure a bit but I couldn't operate the deflate button, still have to figure out how it works. Any hints?

In case I'm not happy with the implant and the doc removes it, is then the use of a vacuum pump possible? I believe not but I'm not sure. Folks please excuse spelling and grammatical errors...

Sit tight, heal.... Give it time.... Let your doctor's set the pace on inflating / deflating.... The first few days and weeks are the most difficult..... Wait it out! Good luck!

Trying to operate the pump this early would be difficult because of the swelling of the tissue surrounding it, as well as very painful, and possibly harmful to your healing. The cylinders are left partially inflated to keep the tissue stretched - it's an important part of the process. I agree that it's uncomfortable, but I wouldn't try to operate the pump at this stage. Be patient - everything will resolve soon.

Yeah, what they said, give it time. Not all docs leave the cylinders partially inflated. Mine did not and did not really try to inflate anything for about 7 weeks. It is a bit of a trade off. You need to keep the resevoir as full as possible to keep the space open during the encapsulating period. If you don't you cannot fully deflate because there is nowhere for the saline to go. So some fluid in the cylinders and some in the resevoir seems to be the preference of some docs.

I also have a Titan, but actually, I don't know the exact model. What's Zero Degrees fellas? I'm on day 31. So far, I'm not a real happy camper. All the posts on this site keep saying patience, so I'm tryin. I'm disappointed that I don't really get to the flaccid state. Very awkward. From what I derive from these posts, that's not likely to change. I'm hoping, tho, that I'm still a little bit inflated. I can feel a little squishing on both sides, whether or not that will make a difference, I don't know. Operating is worse, for me, than I've read here. I can pump up, I think about 75%, but not for long because of the pain. Finding that valve to deflate is very, very difficult. I'm not sure if pressure needs to be applied to two opposing sides, or maybe one side and some on the body of the pump. Torturing myself, I've been able to get some deflation about 4 times, but I don't think completely. My penis still being so sore, I really can't help the process along by bending or squeezing. I did try it out on day 28 with my lady (at about 70%), but after 5-10 minutes had to stop cause of the pain. And, of course, I'm disappointed with Doc Perito by not letting me know how MUCH size I'd be losing. So after I do eventually get functional, I'm still not sure how good it will be. She's had 5 kids, so tight ain't exactly gonna be the game. So Strong Again, sounds like you're way ahead of schedule. At least my schedule. Good for you. Sounds like you'll be fine. If anyone has anymore ideas on the deflation, I'd sure welcome them. Thanx in advance.

Hello StrongAgain and welcome to the board. I also have the Titan Coloplast and have to agree with everyone else, do not mess with the pump at all, wait until you are healed. If it gets painful try another Tylenol.

Better yet, use Advil or Aleve if you are able. The liquid gel caps work best. Naproxane and Ibuprofin sp? are both nsaids and reduce inflamation. They work way better than Tylenol. IMHO.

Every doctor does it differently, in my case it was done by Dr. Eid.

He inflated it to maybe 10% after surgery, close to nothing. He said that he doesn't inflate it a lot pre-op like some other doctors do in order to aviod certain issues that might occur when inflated early on.
I was cleared for sex after 3 weeks, and I didn't lose any size.

The deflate button was very easy to find for me from day one, tho it hurt when I used it the first few weeks, after that it was pain free.

The deflate button is facing towards penis, not your anus, so it is on the front side. It is located half and inch above your pump, gently go with your fingers from your pump upwards, and you'll feel a slight bump. This is the deflated button.
One way to do it would be to hold the back of the pump with your index finger for better grip, and put your thumb on the front of the pump then slowly go upward until you feel the bump which is the deflate button.

The implant is the final frontier. If you remove it, you can never regain erectile function (at least for now. Medical science moves exponentially). I can understand the desire to have it removed. I felt exactly the same way. But it really is interesting. Almost every post I have read said that after three months you will be SO glad you had it done. Pain really does change ones attitude. I'm at week seven and I'm feeling better already. Only four days ago I finally woke up and did NOT think "What the heck was I thinking?"

So, sit it out and wait for a couple months and all indications say that you will be a happy camper.

My implant is the Coloplast Titan Zero Degrees. When looking at pictures of it I can see TWO buttons, one facing left, one facing right. Because everything is still quite sore, I don't want to search for the button/s. Still have a month before the implant gets activated. Just for interest sake: am I wrong regarding the two buttons?
I can't ask my doc because is is on holiday. One button in front tat's what I would like but I fear there are two of it...
