That Illusive Pump Pop

Postby ShopMan » Fri Jan 30, 2015 11:54 am

Guys, I am becoming frustrated and frankly a little down because I have not been able to raise little Charlie at all. :( I have tried pushing the deflation button first and then squeezing the pump bulb. Also tried variations of that procedure. Funny think is the uro was able to cycle me one time in his office. When he did it I did not hear the pop but I wasn't particularily listening for it either. When I got home in the evening I tried it myself and I did get the pop that one time along with an erection. Not full blown like I had hoped but at least it worked that time. I have not heard the pop since nor was I able to raise little Charlie for the cause.
Have any of you guys experienced this? If so did the pop finally manifest itself in time? I hate that this does not work after going through the discomfort and the long wait to become bionic.

Charlie

:Edit: I forgot to add that I seem to get a lot of night wood. :D Even during the day I can feel a stirring down there. What's up with that?

As far as the pop goes, I wouldn't say I hear it. I feel it.

Ok, but none the less you know when it happens. I don't. After the initial pump I can wait a few seconds and pump as if the pop had happened and I get nothing.

Cycling an AMS LGX

Postby LGX_Man » Fri Jan 30, 2015 6:18 pm

The corpora cavernosa's on each side of your cock are simply cauterized to put in the implants. They are not removed as so many men seem to think. So they're actually still there and wrapped around the new implants. This often adds to the increased girth in an implanted penis. They do still get active if they were active before your operation! Lots of guys have/had venous leaks so the CCs would go flat, or leak. Now they have an implant which consists of two rods which keep the liquid contained inside of them. I love waking up with night hardness. I love having an implant. It's so nice to be actively horny, and often! When I had ED for so many years, this was a dream to me. I cannot believe that the dream has come true and I'm thankful each day that I wake up hard as a rock.

I saw that others have explained to you to press the deflate button if you do not hear the "pop". I'm also guessing that you have an AMS LGX if you're looking to hear a POP. If you have a Titan, things may be different. I have not heard you specify which implant you have, but then I do not read each and every discussion in here either. Pressing the deflate button also keeps the tubes open to your implant, which may contribute to your night hard. The solution can run back and forth at will once the deflate button has been activated. Initiating it (squeezing the pump and hearing the POP) closes off the lines and allows you to get the implant to fill with solution thru the action of inflating (pumping) it. At this point you can pump your cock to whatever size you want. Some like it hard, some like it semi-hard. I find that having it less than full gets me a better BJ, with fewer teeth burns. :o

INFLATING AN LGX:
Hold on to the area where the pump joins the tubes with the weak hand, and then squeeze the pump with the strong hang. (Make sure to do complete pumps with as many fingers as necessary, not weak little squeezes) You will hear or feel a POP as you start squeezing, to let you know that the pump is in inflation mode. After completing the first complete pump, wait til the pump refills with solution and do the next complete pump. Continue in this way until you get rock hard. Just to reinforce: Remember, do complete pumps. You should feel hardness in 8-20 pumps, depending on the size of your implant.

DEFLATING AN LGX:
Press the deflate button. You will feel or even hear the solution flowing back to the holding sac. I lightly squeeze my cock to get more of the solution out of it and to get my penis to a normal flaccid state. Now remember, you do still have a urethra in the middle of all of this and it is tender and easily damaged, so don't squeeze too hard. For you guys who like to show, you can now re-pump (hearing/feeling the POP) to the desired size to make those often noticed bulges in your pants.

If this doesn't work, make an appt. with your doctor immediately!

Best of luck, LGX_Man

LGX man, thanks. I am implanted with the AMS LGX as you suspected. I keep trying the things you have suggested. So, if nothing happens this week end I'll be calling the Dr's office first thing Monday.

Hi, I read that you have received your implant in mid Dec. I wish I could remember how much it pains at exactly 6 weeks, but I know for sure there is still some sensitivity and stuff there, I mean I can remember it was definitely not 100%.

Anyways I'll just tell you my encounter about using the pump for the first time, went to the Doc day 6, he pumped it up easily by himself to about 80%, went back home tried to do it myself, couldn't even press the damn thing by 10%. That was on my mind the next 3 days of travelling back to my country. 4th day I'm in the bath, by this time I researched a pumping method that is on here in some thread somewhere about hoe to use both hands.

Basically both thumbs superimposed, one on top the other (NOT left and right and not overlapping each other like I was making the mistake of). Also the top two fingers of the remaining 4 on the other side super imposed. this gives you a nice firm grip and double the strength to pump the pump. And remaining either all 4 fingers, or just 2, one from either hand to kind of hold the release valve, the object here is to kind of know where it is, and more importantly to not have stuff jumping about and hitting you when the pump probably slips out of your hand. This will happen sometimes, especially when you are learning to use the pump.

At 5 months in I know if I wanted to I could pump up to about 60% single handedly, but I hate taking any unnecessary risks. I just use left hand to hold the valve, and since I've used the pump so much, I can use a single hand to pump the pump. Earlier I would use both, in the manner mentioned above. Things get easier over time I wouldn't worry. I've never heard of the pop, it might or might not exist but there's no point of looking out for it if the pump just does it's job.

When I was about four weeks postop I started trying to cycle the pump. The first thing I noticed was that it was really hard to do. The pump took significant pressure just to squeeze it. (The good news is that as time goes on it does become easier to do) I also had trouble with inflation/deflation. I found good information on the AMS site on pages 30--33 of the instructions http://www.amselabeling.com/assets/file ... MSP_en.pdf. If the valve isn't cycling try pinching the ends of the block for 5 to seven seconds. Then press the deflation button for about seven seconds to drain the implant, an then give the bulb a quick, strong squeeze. You should then feel a pop as the valve cycles. I find that if I hold the pump by the three tubes at the base (do NOT hold the base because you may be pushing the button if you do that) I am able to stabilize the unit and can then pump the bulb with just the thumb and forefinger of the other hand. The critical thing to remember is DO NOT push the button at the same time you are trying to pump it up.

You also may find that trying to pump while you are in a warm bath may help.

Just be aware that everything gets better and a lot easier as time goes by. You probably still have some residual tenderness from the surgery and you are still learning a a new set of skills. It's like hitting a fastball, or kicking a football. It looks easy, but you find that the longer you've been doing it, and the more you practice, the easier it is and the better you perform.

just a warning: you have a much GREATER RISK OF INFECTION if you take a bath before the incision is healed.

Hope all is going well. Did you return to your doc for help?

Yes, I did see my Dr. He checked me all over and together after several tries we/ I got the pop thing. After returning home I tried it some more and did get a pop but not every time. She said that it takes time and I have to work it. (he calls it practice.
As far as the bath thing, I took showers until the sixth week and then tried a hot bath a few times. They didn't seem to help but maybe it's because I didn't take enough.
Right now I am kind of in limbo because my wife just had knee replacement Tuesday. The last thing on her mind is seeing me come after her with a iron hard erection. lol
So I keep practicing.

I'm 10 months out with the AMS LGX. For the most part, I do not hear or feel the "pump pop" although it only takes me about 10-12 pumps to get a full and satisfactory erection. I also wake up in night and the mornings with a nice erection.

I try to pump up twice a day. With this daily exercise, my urologist says some blood flow should return to my penis, possibly as early as 12 months but may take as long as 18 to 24 months. This is expected to help with adding length, girth and returning blood to the glans. I have been extremely pleased with my implant, as has my wife.
