WARNING

Don't ever have a hernia repair or a prostatectomy or you are screwed getting an implant. See my other post for the reason why. Mesh. They use gortex in both. If you have had surgery down there, only rods or a 2 piece that "Will not deflate fully because the reservoir in the scrotum is too small to hold all the fluid in the cylinders, Will not expand in girth and will not expand in length, only get hard." 56 years old and I wish I had my prostate back even if all 4 lobes and the nerves were full of cancer. Most likely be dead now but better than the continuous letdowns for the last 5+ years.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

I am so sorry for all of your disapointments. It seems to me like there should be another urologist in your area that will work with you. Having said that, I have not had a prostatectomy but I have had two hernias repaired in my abdominal area. More than likely with mesh but not sure because it was a long time ago. (40 years maybe) and I am scheduled for Tuesday (Dec. 16) and will be getting a three piece. (AMS 700) My Dr. is fully aware of the hernias and said that the only thing that my happen is he will have to make a sepperate incision to place the resovoir in a different location. He stated it's not unusual in a man my age.

My advice is get another opinion. I wish you all the best.

They are trying to baffle you with bullshit.
I am sixty-six years of age and dealing with gradually worsening ED for twenty years. At sixty-three I wanted something that worked reliably. I got an AMS 700 LGX implant in 6/25/13. I am entirely pleased with the outcome. My surgeon was Dr. Karpman.

Thanks guys. Charlie, i hope everything goes well for you! Who and where are your having this done? You can p.m. me if you want to keep it private. I was telling myself that 2/3rds of the men I know have had 1,2,3 hernia repairs. Granted, I am the only one I knew of with prostate cancer at 49 so they have not dealt with this crap yet but SOMEBODY has to be thinking outside the box that this issue is going to come up and more often.

Thanks. Good luck with your surgery! I will put him on my list. Maybe i can call monday. At this point from every office I have talked to this thing is going to have to be put off for another year AGAIN. All about assurance every bill will be paid before anything is booked. One doctor suggested my best bet was to wait till I was on Medicare. I have been dealing with impotency since 1997. I have 11 more years to go to be old enough to get medicare. another told me he does not understand why I don't think the injections are good enough and want an implant. Sheesh. They don't freakin work! I was injecting 1 full cc of trimix every 30 minutes topped with viagra, cialis or levitra. By the second shot I would give up. some days the shots hurt like hell. You only have so much time when it goes limp in 20-30 minutes when part of it is used up pumping, then injecting, then massaging it in, then pumping and putting on an erection ring till it hurts so bad it has to come off. My wife has to love me because she has certainly been shortchanged in the sex department.

Alibaba, I have to believe that you have not yet found the right doctor. At age 50 I had RRP. Three years prior I had a mesh repair of an umbilical hernia at my navel, which made the RRP procedure tricky, but not unachievable. When I was but a lad I had two inguinal hernias repaired. 17 months after my RRP I had the AMX 700LGX implanted with good success. My insurance was through Minnesota BC/BS, and since the ED was a result of the care for the prostate cancer, apart from my deductibles, my entire bill was covered.

I hope you find an competent doctor who has good experience behind him, to advise you.

Scott, who did your surgery? I agree on the right doctor bit. With a doctor that is confident in their ability I would think it would be no biggie.
