Surgery with Dr Karpman

Hi All,
As I mentioned in my Intro, I saw Dr. Karpman. He recommended the LGX. I am scheduled for the middle of November. Just need to do my EKG and get the blood work done. Christine at El Camino Urology called and said that my insurance does cover the implant. I also received a notice from Anthem Blue Cross verifying the approval. So that’s good news…
Not really nervous. .. Want to be sure it is the right decision though since you can’t “undo” it once it’s done. As I get closer I will get apprehensive :? , but I know I can log on to Frank Talk and lean on you guys. ;)

I get my AMS 700 implanted this Monday 10/6. I’m thrilled at the prospect of being more active in romance.

Hey Badger,
Hope all goes well. Keep us posted.

I'm concerned about losing erect length from the surgery. I wonder if pumping, now until my surgery, will help me accommodate a longer implant by perhaps stretching things out a bit. I have a VacuTech pump and have used it for temporary girth purposes in the past and it expands lengthwise as well. I guess I should ask Dr Karpman.

Check with your doctor about what you can do to help condition your body for both recovery from the surgery, but also to improve the chances of maintaining your length. Here is another option for you to consider. I haven't bought the underwear or tried it, but I ran across the web site <www.stealthformen.com> that claims to increase the flaccid length of the penis. It's worth asking your doctor about it, especially in light of how Dr. Kramer measured me just prior to surgery to predict my length.

I asked my doctor (Dr. Kramer in Baltimore) about the length issue, and here is what he told me. First, scar tissue and fibrosis will effect the length of an erect penis. One way to predict the length of your penis after surgery is to stretch your flaccid penis and measure along the top of the penis from the skin at the base to the tip of the glans. Don't intentionally push the ruler back into your gut; measure from where the skin naturally rests at the base of the shaft. The penis length post-op should be between that measurement and the measurement minus 1 cm. The big variable is any scar tissue or fibrosis at the tip of the cavernosa. Such a condition complicates the surgeon's ability to place the implant up to the end of the cavernosa. In my case, he told me immediately after surgery that he did not encountered such a condition so he expects to get the full measurement (minus 1 cm).

Based upon that approach, training your flaccid penis to maintain or restore your length prior to any shrinkage resulting from ED, it might be helpful to start such a training months in advance of the surgery.

I had my implant done by Dr Karpman. Lost no size at all. I highly recommend him.

That is the reason I want the LGX. And Dr Karpman. During my examination he indicated he may not be able to use the infra pubic approach on me due to the "dead space" (I think that is what he called it) and scar tissue from my previous enhancement surgeries.
I don't want any more girth anyway, but if I could regain some length, as I hear is possible with the LGX, that would be great. I was at one time over 6". Actually even now I can pump with my vacutech to nearly 6.25 " pretty consistently now.So I am hoping that helps. I am a bit over 5.5 inches long erect now with a slight upward curvature. Scar tissue shortened my penis but it has also raised my erection angle almost vertical, which I do like.
I definitely don't want to lose length with the implant and certainly not a centimeter ( 0.4"). That is why I want Dr Karpman. I believe he can do it.
Actually come to think of it if I can start getting boners at will, I won't give a crap how big it is

Well Gentlemen,
Everything is a go for surgery with Dr Karpman. Started my antibiotic and Hibiclens soap both twice a day. Also taking a stool softener. Have eight days of recovery time off work. Not sweating it if I need a few more days though. Not anxious. Actually feels good knowing this ED burden will be lifted off my shoulders I hope for good. That's pretty much it for now. Thanks for your support.

The Deed is Done.

Hi Fellas,
On the other side now. Three days post op. Proud owner of an AMS LGX. No length loss… so far. Dr Karpman is awesome. One thing that was a bit odd was at the pre op appointment he changed his mind and recommended the CX. Not the LGX. I was surprised and my heart sank. I said: "sure whatever you think is best." He could tell I was bummed though. His concern was that since I had so much scar tissue and fillers in my penis from previous surgeries the implant may be pulled down and also would flex too much when in use. I said I don't care. He said "OK as long as you understand that might happen I will do the LGX." Well so far, my erection angle is just as high as before (yay!) and that sucker feels very firm to me, at this point anyway. So all in all I am very pleased. He had to use the scrotal approach btw.

Hi Gentleman,
Everything is going well. Have not have sex yet but I have masturbated with no problems.
If I grab the glans and tug slightly when I squeeze the bulb it moves more fluid into the penis. I have been activating since day one...probably around 3-4 hours a day minimum. Length is good (hoping for more though) angle is great (up still) girth is same. my mental state and outlook has really improved as well. I am a little concerned about detection, but not overly so. Man if feels great to be off the cialis.

Awesome! What is your girth measurement?

Also, how good is the erection? Does it feel full like a natural erection??
