Anyone in the Chicago area thats still active and available for a show and tell?

Im 34, basically had ED my entire life, been to multiple urologists, and my current uro is saying we may ultimately go with IPP. He doesn't necessarily want to do it because of my age, but we've exhausted all other options. He also said they typically need to be replaced approximately every 10 years. So if we do go that route, he wants to be the one to do the original implant and the next... At least 2 times before he retires (he's young).

I have so many questions. I've been reading all these forums but I still just dont know. Nothing really beats actually talking to someone who has it, seeing it in person, how it works, their experience, etc.. Hopefully someone is around. Thanks in advance!

Hope you find someone close by you, otherwise I'm a few hours south.
I was older when I had my implant but at your age there would be no stopping me from having it done, especially with the issues you've had and things you've tried. Yes, you will more than likely need a revision some time down the road but the good part of that is advancements that will happen to IPPs in the meantime.
My concern is your young doctor. How many has he done? I'd be nervous if he's new to this.
Since you've been reading make a list of questions to ask doc. I went in blind, didn't know anything about implants other than it would get me working again.
Good Luck on your decision.

Hi! I hope so too  this has seriously taken a toll on my mental health. I honesty don't know if he's done any, let alone how many. I'm nervous about the entire thing. I've seen at least one Chicagoan on here but hasn't been active. Where are you located?

My mental health was in the pits before my implant. After pills failed, then injections failed it was like going through ED again and again.
Make sure your surgeon has experience, you don't want any complications, infections or mistakes. As I mentioned, arm yourself with all the questions you want answered. Wish I had all the knowledge FT has given me before I had my implant. Didn't find FT until 5 months after. I was nervous too, but things turned out fine.
I'm in the SW Ohio area near Cincy. PM me if you want to chat in more detail.

I am in northwest Indiana. Valparaiso. Just south of Chicago. I would be willing to do a show and tell. I also had my surgery in Chicago by one of the better implant docs in the country.

I had a fantastic conversation with SteveSW over Christmas vacation about his implant experience. Great guy to talk to and I am thrilled he had a positive experience with Dr. Goldenberg. I was truly inspired and learned a lot. I have reached out to two more in the St. Louis, but I see they haven't been on in a couple months. Since not everybody shares their location is there anybody else around St. Louis that I could take out to lunch and hear about their experience? Thanks -Dave.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

UNC Health Care in CH did my implant. Dr Brad Figler and his team did an excellent job. Cant say enough good them. They care and follow up. March 26 was my "Brand New Man" day. Still uncomfortable but tolerating.
Signing onto show and tell.

DR Figler did your implant? Hows was your recovery? How are things going now?

I had RP in 1998 at Johns Hopkins here in Baltimore, MD leaving with total ED. I finally had an implant at Chesapeake Urology in Baltimore, MD in 2011. It's been 11 years and it's still fine. I see my Urologist once a year for consultation. I asked him if I was too old to have another if I ever needed it. He said he just performed a surgery on a patient age 88. Wow! Open to helping anyone in this area if I can answer any questions. I'm 84, still working and going strong, having sex with my wife every chance I get.
RP 1998; removed cancer but left with complete ED; penile implant 2011; 6" penis; continuing to have good sex until my wife died 10/1/22. Trying to learn to live alone after 65 years of a good marriage.
