Hi everyone,
I need some advice on a post-revision complication with my implant:
• Implant: Coloplast Titan OTR (22cm cylinders, 3cm extenders, 125ml reservoir), installed 1 year ago.
• Revision (2 months ago): Permanent suture Glanupexie for severe floppy glans, plus 2cm RTEs added.
• The Issue: Developed a localized E. coli infection at the suture line behind the glans after resuming sex.
• Current Meds: High-dose double antibiotics (Augmentin 1g 2x/day + Cravit/Levofloxacin 750mg 1x/day). Visible pus is mostly gone, but minor inflammation remains and I just started feeling a mild pressure pain today.
• Anatomical Status: The glans fixation failed (floppy glans is back). The left cylinder feels like it migrated backward when flaccid, but it still pumps smoothly into the glans when fully inflated.
I am at a top hospital in Bangkok and have a contrast MRI scheduled for Monday to rule out deep cylinder involvement.
My Questions:
1. Has anyone cleared an E. coli infection on permanent glanupexie sutures with antibiotics alone, or did the permanent stitches eventually have to come out?
2. Since the left cylinder still cycles properly into the glans when inflated, is another revision even necessary, or is it safer to leave it alone?
3. Any specific things I should ask the doctor during the MRI review next week?
Thanks for your insights!

These are questions best left up to the Drs. I’ve had several infections and turned out the last was actually a yeast infection from all the antibiotics. Once I started treating this, within a week or two things weee greatly improved and I’ve gotten a with healing. How are you sure it’s a ecoli infection? Get with Drs and go with what they say and see what happens. At this point your pretty much in the hands of the Dr.
