Implant 4-14-26 with Dr. Hakky

I’ve followed the familiar path of many here on FT. ED leads to pills, then maybe, VED, and injections, and finally implant. I’ve struggled with ED for more than 35 years and I’ve been grateful that there has always been something else to try when the current remedy fails. Various pills worked very well for me for many years, but there was always the planning that went into sex. Planning to have the pills available when you needed it. Timing the pill to have the optimal “window of opportunity” for sex. Scheduling meals and drinks to maximize chances of success with the pills. When the pills became less effective, I was grateful once again to have something else to try. Trimix, which worked very well (most of the time) for about 4 years. But trimix took much more planning to have available when needed and keep refrigerated on cross country or international trips. Then trimix caused symptoms of Peyronies, and now it’s time for an implant. I’m on the surgery schedule one week from today with Dr. T. Hakky in Atlanta. I would certainly be willing to travel to see Dr. Hakky, but I am very fortunate to live within driving distance. Wish me luck, and I know where to find advice if I need it. You guys are the best!

Good luck, you are in good hands with Dr. Hakky, He did my implant almost 4 years ago. Still going strong. I also live in the Atlanta area.

Well, the boys got a new roommate today! He moved in this morning. I sure hope the three of them can learn to get along with each other. Dr. Hakky installed a 26cm Titan XL with no RTE’s. A little bigger than I was expecting, but I guess the VED paid off. I’ve been VED pumping for about 6weeks. Had a minor issue with a clogged drain line after we got home, but it seems we have that resolved now. More later. Resting at home in my own bed. Not much sleep last night, and had to be at the hospital at 6am.

Yesterday was surgery, so I got to unwrap and take a look today. No swelling; I’ve been diligent with icing. Everything looks great. Thank you Dr. Hakky! Some black and blue mostly around the taint, but much less than I expected. I can feel the pump and tug down on it; gently for now. Pre-op was 7.25 BPL x 6.0 G. First measure (partially inflated) post-op was 6.5 BPL x 5.4 G. Very happy with those numbers. Pointed up in a jockstrap with a baby sock for now; fairly comfortable. One thing that I have found very useful is a geriatric grabber stick, about 3ft long with a squeeze handle on one end and a claw on the other. I can reach things from a table or the floor without bending. I took an oxycodone last night (surgery day) hoping it would help me get a good night’s sleep. Don’t think I will take those again. Oxy did take the pain away, but every time I closed my eyes I had horrible nightmares, and stayed awake until dawn. Got a couple of naps today and pain is minimal. As I move around a little bit, the pain wanders from the pump to the reservoir to the shaft. Glans is mostly numb, but warm. I know that others have experienced cold glans. Happy to be on the post-op side.
Things are looking up…………….literally!

Dude, the oxy is NO JOKE for some folks, myself included. I stopped taking it and just dealt with the pain because it made my heart beat uncomfortably fast :? and much like you, it gave me CRAZY dreams when i was able to sleep!

Best of luck man, cheers to your recovery!
