Getting back to work after surgery

Postby learnmore » Sun Mar 08, 2026 9:59 am

Dear Friends

First of all that you all for posting very informative post on this important topic. I have made my mind that I will be getting an implant.
Question for you all: how long after surgery you were able to go back to work? I am a small business owner and I commute 1 hour to work via train.
Then most of my day is sitting and talking to my employees and clients on phone.

My first implant I wish I had stayed out a minimum of 3 wks, my glans were extremely sensitive, I tried baby socks and they worked depending on the type of sock, but the best thing was I wore a condom for a couple of weeks.. the glans finally settled down and all was ok. Good luck, we are all different, by the way the revision I had 5 yrs later I could of easily went back to work after a week.

I was fortunately already retired when implanted. Glad too because it took me a long time to heal.
This is a question many ask. It is such a variable it is near impossible to answer. Some guys are ready to go in days; other guys take weeks or months to heal up.
A one hour train ride? I wouldn't have been ready for that for months.
