I got my IPP three days ago. Here we go! (includes pics)

Postby Nordicguy » Thu Oct 16, 2025 5:26 am

Hi everyone, this is my first post on here.

First, a bit of background info on me: I'm pushing 50 in a few years, and have been suffering from ED for a number of years, with the situation eventually escalating to the point where pills, injections, trimix etc. were not helping anymore. So, after some consultation with the urologist and doing my due diligence on FT, I landed with the end stage option, and here we are. I'm from the Nordics, and there are only about 30 new implants installed per year in my country, if public sources are to go by, so I'm going to have to be vague on some of the details for privacy. I hope you all understand.

Long story short, I got my AMS 700 CX three days ago. I was implanted with 18 cm cylinders + 2 cm RTE's and an MS pump via a penoscrotal incision. The urologist implanted the fluid chamber via another incision made in my lower abdomen, as seen in the pics. I also had a vasectomy done last spring by the same urologist, and I asked him about the possibility to have both operations done at the same time, but he said he'd rather do the vasectomy separately beforehand to make sure it's successful and healed completely to prevent further headaches down the road with the implant, so I went with his suggestion.

Both operations were done through the public health care system, so I did not have the freedom to pick my operating urologist, hospital nor the IPP brand or type. I understand that implantee candidates should preferably seek a high-volume urologist for such a life-altering operation, but this is still such a rare operation here, so I'm not sure we even have high-volume doctors available. Also, I was not in the position to fly abroad for the operation, so this was pretty much my only option. That said, I have nothing but praise for the hospital and urologist, and I feel I got the best quality care I could ask for. Apparently an AMS rep was also present during the operation, based on the pre-op briefing and post-op documents, but I did not meet or see them, as I was under general anesthesia during the op.

The pics were taken today morning, 3 days after surgery. The urologist deflated me for the six week healing period before the activation, which seems to differ from the usual practice to leave the IPP partly inflated, but I'm OK with this. I'm healing well and the swelling in my scrotum is already better. I was also put on antibiotics for 3 days to prevent infection. I did not take any measurements prior to the op, so I'm just rocking what I've got now... sorry!

So, that's my story. Feel free to ask questions and/or shoot me a PM. Just trying to do my small bit to pay it forward to the community!

Congrats Nordicguy! We look like identical twins. Lol
I had the same exact thing on 9 Oct with the same sizing, type and incisions. Crazy. My doc left me just partially inflated bit thats the only difference. I dont think it is making any difference though. I dont go back until 8 weeks so wondering how we differ from so many on this site. Seeing guys cycling in 3-4 weeks, I just can’t understand. I am one week today and so damned sore. The swelling is way down and I think that had to do with the drain bag I had for several days. Just icing as much as I can and taking it easy. I go back to work Monday but I will be working from home for a few weeks.
Hoping all the best man and keep in touch on your journey.

Haha, what a coincidence. Crazy indeed. Feels great to have a twin on this trip! :D

Wishing you all the best on your journey, too. I'm also going to wait patiently for the six weeks before I even think about cycling this thing. My pump sits quite low behind my balls and seems easy to get to, so I don't anticipate any issues with that when the time comes. What else can I say... I can't wait to be able to make love with my wife properly again!

I think the incision should be made vertically, which is necessary and important. Also, I'm not sure if a separate incision was needed for the reservoir. Other than that, get well soon.
