Brief setback

Hi guys.
Im 4 weeks postop coming up on Tuesday.
Recovery was going great.
I was cleared to resume activity a week ago today.

I went running. It felt great!
I went to the gym. It was good to be back.

And last saturday (18 days post op) I had drug free, apology free sex with my wife for the first time in a decade. It was amazing! I fumbled a little getting things ready but no big problems. It was so great. I was hard as a rock and we went at it until she dug her face into a pillow and came HARD! No pain and no apologies!

2 days later I went to work and while there i sneezed 3 times and something felt off/wrong. I went to the bathroom and discovered my incision had split open and I was bleeding. I guess it was a combination of all that activity and it was just too much.

I spent this week trying to get it under control with moderate success but it was still splitting opened several times a day so today I went in and got stapled back together. Very disappointing but really just a speedbump. My dr assures me its no big deal and ill be back on the path to recovery in no time.

Maybe it was just a good reminder that im not 23 years old and im not a superhero.

So now ill just take it easy and focus on healing and as much as I regret the setback, I now know exactly why I did all this and getting to see my wife's satisfaction as well as my own makes it all worth it.

Have any of you had incisions that came opened after surgery? I haven't seen it discussed here but im sure im not the only one.

To anyone thats early in recovery: take it easy and listen to your dr. I was cleared for activity but I clearly went too hard and should have been more careful.

Colby-jack__, my recovery was unusually rough, however nothing like that with the incision. But wow -- what a great preview of what you and your wife have to look forward to !!!

Sorry to hear about your incision, I'm sure it'll heal up soon.. if you take it a bit easier You infrapubic or penoscrotal? My Dr only used glue with my infrapubic which worked really well with no issues, including hot baths at day 3 and sex by week 3.

But..... great news that you're back in the saddle with your wife! That's awesome.. congrats man! There's more greatness and fun to cum

Infrapubic. No numbness. Absolutely a work of art other than this "speedbump" and im very sure ill be back on track in a week. I kept it so clean there was little chance for infection and the tissue was very "calm" so I wasn't worried.

But really, what an experience. Im underestimating when I say its been a decade since I've been able to have sex with my wife without pills, injections, an hour of meditating and temperatures between 71 and 73... and last Saturday during the DAY she said "you wanna go give this sex thing a try" and i said yes and delivered but now incant do it again for 3 or 4 weeks? Ill manage but wow... this is a wild ride.

Nonetheless, don't worry about that "setback".
You'll find it gets better and better -especially after about the 6th month mark.

Ya, the "test drive" was great. Really. Great.
Going back for staples was the right move. I should have done it sooner but no harm no foul. I took pictures every day and everything stayed calm but wasn't healing on its own.

Like hikerman said, 18 days is to soon. Our dock says let it rest for 4 weeks with no sex. I was healing with an 80% hard b dick and did get a gentle BJ at about 3weeks. hellwell and enjoy.
