Gentlemen I would surely appreciate any opinions as I believe that my surgeon’s physicians assistant is giving me some highly questionable advice.
The issue is that when I pump up my implant to the point that I’m beginning to approach my pre-implant size I develop a large uniform bulge at the base of my penis. That bulge is half buried in my kind of small fat pad yet disappears toward the crux/base of the implant. The bulge is almost 7.75 inches around. My shaft was naturally at 6 inches and I am now able to reach 5.5 with the implant IF I put in about 40 pumps which in the last year or so has created the bulge.
I was just told by the PA that I am over pumping and need to limit my pumps to 20-25 max so that I don’t rupture the pump or the tubing which he says can be damaged with too much pressure. The main issue for me is that if I limit my pumps to that number I lose an easy 1/2 inch in length an 1/2 inch in girth, not to mention less stability. He then goes on to say that he doesn’t understand what I’m complaining about as I’m still well above average at that size. I don’t mean to be a whiner but who in their right mind wants to lose penis size?
I would appreciate any thoughts and insights from our community as I have an appointment with the surgeon to have a cystoscopy on September 12th and want to have things lined out clearly when see him at that time. I’m thinking that I need to probably insist on a revision. Which sucks!
Over the course of 11 years I’ve had and am now on my 3rd implant. I’ll probably go back to AMS if and when as I’ve had two Titans. My original implant was the LGX and it lasted 6 years, my second, a Titan lasted only two years and this Titan seems to be on the verge of rupturing after only three.
I hope that I’ve explained this clearly, let me know.
Please advise guys.

Wow. That definitely sounds like a weak spot in a cylinder or the tubing.
I can pump my LGX up to the point of pain without any bulges or other abnormalities.

I've never heard of 'overpumping". I'm confident that my AMS CX is designed to be pumped until I can't pump it anymore, which I can hit at 20 pumps. The bulb becomes the "marble" that so many talk about. I've set my bulb on the bathroom marble countertop and pushed on it as hard as my thumb will allow when it's rock hard just to see if I can get a little bit more in there..
I believe there is nothing in the whole IPP system that could be damaged or deformed by squeezing that little pump bulb, these systems must be designed to take much more pressure than those bulbs can generate, even if you're stupid like me and try to crush the bulb on a marble countertop.
The assistant's reasoning sounds fishy to me.

I agree. I’ve been thinking that because of the inherent stiffness of the Titan cylinders when it’s deflated it tends to wrinkle up internally, at least both of mine have, and I’m sure that the weakness and ballooning is taking place in that very spot. So stiff cylinders and almost always being wrinkled could potentially cause weakness leading to irregular expansion.
I mean Titans are not supposed to expand in length. I’m 6 inches long completely soft and when fully pumped I reach 7.5 but it’s not expanding it’s just unfolding/unwrinkling. Does this happen to anyone else?

I agree. If he were correct then the whole Perrito exercise routine should be blowing out pumps and tubing left and right. Besides, I’ve spoken to five different implanters and each acknowledged that to restore size it was necessary to pump up as much as you can, repeatedly, and that you can’t create enough pressure with the bulb pump to damage any part of the system.
Fuck! I’m not looking forward to another revision. I may have to go back to AMS, I think that I’ve about had my fill of Coloplast products. Damn!

In my opinion your PA's advice is self serving. He wants you out of the picture. They don't want to deal with problems.
As for durability. I did ask my dr about max pumping pressure. He was very adamant that there was no way on earth that I could damage my CX by pumping. Remember, he only uses Boston Scientific implants.

I wholeheartedly agree. I’ve been told the same. I suppose that my real concern is that it might eventually rupture my corpera cavernosa by the chamber expanding too much. It needs fixed. I’m afraid that this really does seem to merit a revision, you only live once! Woo hoo!!

I’m believe that going to give Coloplast a call first thing tomorrow and see what they’ve got to say. Though no matter what I hear from them an AMS CX is in my future, Heaven willing.

Re: Houston, I’ve got a problem…
When I had paraphimosis, they scheduled me quickly with a PA, who misdiagnosed my condition as reactive edema and told me to use wraps, assuring me it would resolve in a few weeks. Three months later, at a follow-up with the MD in the same office, it was correctly diagnosed and I underwent a circumcision to fix it. The MD then showed the PA how to recognize paraphimosis
. It became a teaching moment. I would recommend scheduling another appointment with the MD. While there are wonderful PAs, there are also incompetent ones.

40, lifelong ED. Pills effective for a few months at 30. Skipped injections. 1/25 Coloplast Genesis 22-13. Subcoronal incision. Post-op chronic lymphedema (controlled) + delayed ejaculation. Grateful to be bionic as life is way better than ED.
