Has anyone had the implant and male ureteral sling done at the same time?
What was the outcome?

I researched getting a urethral sling about 9 months before deciding to go ahead with my implant, but I wasn't considered a candidate as the leakage was considered too trivial to guarantee a result. Less than 5 ml/day average, usually minor drips/leaks only when active or exercising, but still caused embarrassing and uncomfortable wet patches on clothing. Surgeon told me that he wouldn't be able to get the tension correct and could actually make things worse. Ended up getting Botox injected into the bladder wall instead. That plus the implant has gotten me to pretty much 100% continent most of the time. Extremely strenuous sustained exercise or a few too many social drinks can cause minor leakage at times, or a rare episode when sleeping, otherwise all good.

I read your other posts, it looks like we may have had a similar path. I had terrible urinary incontinence following my RP in 2022.
Took a very long time to get it under control and eventually pretty much resolved.
Just curious, what level of symptoms are you having that the sling procedure needs to correct?

Can’t wait LGX. I had great luck after my RP in 2022. Incontinence was pretty much gone in several weeks. The biggest issue I have is the foreplay part and sometimes at orgasm. I tend to leak at those times sometimes. I have to remember to take a piss before we start anything. I told Dr. Brady about this and he said that he can do a mini sling while inserting my IPP and that would pretty much clear things up for me.

Thanks Boatdrinks, that's interesting, and great that you can get them both done together. I also sometimes get some minor arousal leakage, or vary rarely now mild climacturia at orgasm (just drips/dribbles). Generally only happens if I get really sexually aroused during foreplay. That is happening more often as the implant is now getting very comfortable and I always seem to be horny, although I can control any problems 99% of the time. Likewise if I do have any sign of leakage before PIV sex I take a piss before proceeding with intercourse. My implant surgeon doesn't do slings or AUS etc and had earlier referred me to a colleague about continence issues. A while ago I asked him about arousal leakage/climacturia, and he told me that it happens through a different mechanism to general incontinence. But he doesn't do implants so it would have been separate procedures in my case, thankfully not needed following alternate treatment.

Had a mini-sling with IPP a couple of years ago and everything has worked out fairly well .. Still have to remember to take a piss before we start anything… There is a new technique for performing a mini-sling that my surgeon recently told me about during my annual checkup Bottom line- it’s great to be bionic anytime 24/7!
